COULD THIS BE GUILD HOUSING?

Whilst adventuring I stumbled onto a peculiar house in Grahtwood. This house was never used in any quest, as I had finished all of them in the zone previously. The house had a wall around it, but through a thorough round of leaping and hopping around I finally found my way inside.

Then, by chance alone, I am in Deshaan, running from some wasps if I recall, and boom! There is another peculiar house, using a different style of architecture, but nearly an identical lay out to the house in Grahtwood. I thought to myself, "what a crazy coincidence!".

Further down the road, im pretty sure while running from some scorpions, there it was... In the northern part of the Ali'kir Desert. Another house! This one, nearly exactly the same as the other two, but again having its own style of architecture. This time I became suspicious, and asked myself, "what are three similar buildings doing in three different factions zones, but not being used in the game for quests?" Then it hit me, "could these be future guild or player housing?!".

Now, as far as I can tell, these three buildings are not used at all by quests or otherwise. The buildings themselves cannot be entered, but you can find your way over the gates and into the courtyards. Could this be future housing? You tell me!

there are several sites like these around Tamriel and there's been a lot of speculation about what they could possibly be. I've heard they might be killed or Dark Brotherhood safe houses possibly killed halls like you suggest and even player housing.

Each one of them also has a basement entrance on the side of the building. None of the doors work so entry through the front and the basement is restricted. I just want to know whats inside lol.

For sure! Go check these places out, the one in Grahtwood is eat of the Haven Wayshrine. The one in Alikir Desert is North of the Stables Wayshrine, and the one in Deshaan is to the Far South and East.

it sounds like housing won't be in for a very long time (which sucks), so i really don't think that's it. i have come across them as well, and at first didn't think about it, but i think you are on the right track of thought. i think it is tied to the justice system though. its the only content close enough that has large amounts graphics that need to be put in (the fences/hideout). since we can't access the area they might as well put it in now, to desensitize us to their presence, save time and effort later on, and entice those that noticed them.
I will work. I will save. I will sacrifice. I will endure. I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the whole issue of the struggle depended on me alone.

I'm going to check our the one in grahtwood. I remember the area well. It would be awesome if it's guild housing, but I'm thinking a building for the Thiefs Guild or Dark Brotherhood is more likely.

I sure hope so because a housing system would be awesome to have in this game.

I've wondered about them since Beta, but I haven't read anything anywhere explaining their existence. I thought perhaps they were Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood related, but I think they Thieves Guild at least is probably out since there are so many Outlaw Refuges on the PTS now it doesn't seem that they would need even more locations. I would love for it to be Player Housing but I don't think so since I believe they have said it is not something they are currently working on.

They keep saying they aren't working on player housing (which makes me want to strangle them every single time) and of course there's been no mention of guild housing. Either would be fine by me and I REALLY hope that's what these buildings are. But I kind of doubt it and of course they aren't going to tell us anything of any substance regarding it. :(

The one pictured in Deshaan I've got into the courtyard of and wondered what it was. I wouldn't suspect guild/player housing since they have explicitly stated it isn't something they're currently working on but something they want to get to eventually.

Now I could see it being what @Iago‌ mentioned, DB safehouses or something to that effect. They have in a few conversations noted the thieves guild and DB are something they have actively been working on for a long while now. The person from the dialog team who came on the twitch feed mentioned writing dialog for it even. I suspect they have to have the justice system in place for TG and DB though. In Skyrim the DB had its own hall away from cities, although in Oblivion the entrance was right in the middle of a town so who knows which way they will go.
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

Yeah I saw them as well and wondered what their future purpose might be. For the time being it's just sort of fun finding a way to get into the areas.

All they would have to do is decorate the inside for rp, make the basement a neat hangout for guilds, and put crafting stations outside in the courtyards. As soon as the player entered the gate, it would instance into the guild house.

Maybe we could even have the ability to craft special guild sets that increased exp/ap gains when we group with other guild members? You writing this all down @zos?

If they ever consider guild housing ZOS need to take a close look at FFXIV to sewe what a fail that is likely to be, on both technical and player-expectation fronts.

Hint: this should NOT be gated by having to join a guild.

I hope Guild Housing never comes to ESO, it's a blight on MMOs. Why? Because it plays a large part in turning the game world into a lonely wasteland. This is especially true as a game ages.

I was part of a wonderful public guild event earlier. Whilst it was in ceremony other players just happened upon in on their adventures. One even stopped, observed and congratulated all who took part on a great spectacle. I believe they are now also a fledgling member of that guild. This would almost certainly never happen if guild halls were a part of the game as all these events/fanfare would occur behind closed doors and out of sight.

Guild hall/housing is a mistake, and anyone that really cares about a game's community will never wish for such.

What about player housing, somewhere cool to hangout with friends? Even then, it is something that has been part of every other elder scrolls game. I do agree with you in a way about the guild housing, but player housing wouldn't hurt!

Personally I'd hope those buildings are saved for guild housing and not thieves guild / dark brotherhood / outlaw refugees.
    Why?
Because I would prefer to see these three to be hidden from the law, and not out in the open where every guard can find them...
For such shady locations, I'd want an well hidden cave behind a waterfall, or a backdoor to a secret deadric ruin under some innocent inn/farmhouse, or a door off the sewer entrace or the expanded basement of some small, crumbling and deserted looking tower... something like that.

I don't think guild cities should have crafting stations or banks. But an arena where guild members can PvP against each other? Oh yes! In Age of Conan we had built a pretty extensive guild city and we used it for things we would NOT want random or enemy players to happen upon. That said, we still held a tavern night and MOST RP occurred out in the world...on an open world PvP server no less. Of course PvP was regularly incorporated into the RP as well. There's no reason guild cities have to kill the regular cities. They just need to be kept sufficiently different from the regular cities so that you don't lose reasons to go there.
