for new players who buy the game from february 15th or after. since buying the game gets you 30 days for subscription if they buy the game on February 15th their subscription would end on March 16th and March 17th is when the game goes b2p.
so it is possible we could see a lot more new players in the game because of this

Yeah, but there will surely be droves who wish to pay nothing to get back into Tamriel, and will thus wait until right up to March 17th.

But it is an interesting observation nonetheless, thank you for sharing it. This one may keep an eye out around that time now just in case...

I did not follow the logic behind this.

If they bought 15th Feb then surely they would get the 500 crown allotment on B2P launch for having an account. If they bought on 17th March then they would get the full 1500 crown instead so I'd have thought that was a better deal.

People who previously purchased ESO and have since stopped playing. They'll be back.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

They only get the 1500 Crowns if they buy ESO Plus on March 17. Otherwise, they get 500 like anyone else.

February 15 just maximizes the time they can play for nothing more than the cost of the box.

If I bought the game today, would I get the DLC come March 17th?

I was just going to buy it know but I don't want to if I'll have to buy the DLCs when it goes B2P.

    Thanks.

I misunderstood the announcement when they said: The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited includes all the great gameplay from the original PC/Mac game, plus all the updates and content additions,...

What DLC? They're not adding any content until the consoles get their version. Never mind PC players are waiting months for something new. Champion system is days away and absolutely nothing for V14 players to work on. Unless of course you're not tired of doing the same dungeons over for 8 months.

If you're talking about things like the Senche mount, then no. You're a little late to the party, sorry. If you're talking about stuff like Wrothgar... whenever that hits, then; if you keep subscribing, when it hits, you'll have it. Though, if you unsub, you'll lose access to it. At least as they've described the systems now.

While you're right technically it's far too subtle for most people I expect and even more so for people not currently playing or lurking the forums, so I doubt any such effect will the noticeable .. and also anyone interested in this change is being told my ZOS March 17th is the date so if I were one I'd not even be looking here till then.

Hence his statement, OP did state specifically 'new players buying the game in Feb' and not returning ones. Thus they'll have free time from purchase.

I already arrived :) Didn't wanna wait for possible new version of the game since you can pick boxed version with 10-20€. Granted my sub runs out before March 17th but I'm actually enjoying this so much that I wouldn't mind subbing. Too bad no reviews I read last year told that this game had best quests of any MMO to date and the world actually reacts to what you do way better than Skyrim ever did.

I told my friends from my previous game they could do this and get into the game earlier, but they didn't listen to me. :(

I hope that doesn't mean they won't try it at all. The one positive thing I told myself about the game going B2P will be out the window.

I will assume that most of the new "smart" people will buy the game in february 18 so the subscription will end post march 17 and they will take the 1500 extra crowns.... just my 2 cents
