So we can see what Road ESO is now going... sad, just sad.

I miss days when Game was a Art not Money bag.

What days were those and did the rest of us blink and miss them?

Games have been "made for money" since the 70's when Atari did all it could to rake in those pounds.

The big gaming crash of the 80's was down to Atari releasing so much tosh people got fed up and stopped paying. Thankfully Nintendo picked up the ball.

Since then some devs have put care into their work but a lot of others, mainly those tied to Publishers, have still been more money over game experience.

It crashed in the 80's because people then wouldn't put up with this kind of bovine excrement. It happens now because people will pay for anything.

It's only going to get worse.

There are some people that are so happy paying for mediocrity or enjoying being ripped off that if some devs/publishers walked into their house and urinated on their feet they would be thankful for having their feet warmed and moisturised.

Not in the least bit new. Former LOTRO player of six years. Seen all the very worst that a cash shop can stock. I'm just hopeful - hopeful - that ZOS are smart enough not to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs just so they can have one nice hot Sunday dinner.

No such thing as hope in cash store model.

It's either going to be DLC or cost crowns per cut. Well, at least we're getting it.

That would be extremely sad :'( considering that completely free to play games like LOTRO have it included in game for gold and open to all players.

I'd lay blame on every single empty head in the "what we want in crown store" thread for offering to pay in ESO for basic services in f2p games. I mean, if they want to waste money that bad, I have a bridge for sale....
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

LotRO created the barbershop while it was still P2P, so it's different.

And don't blame people in that thread. We've been asking for barbershop since the game launched, ZOS kept saying "we're considering it, we hear you" but did absolutely nothing and only (tentatively) called it a priority after announcing B2P. Now I ask you...

Having seen that once great time flushed down the pan I know what you mean, my experience in Rift though was far more positive and the subscriber perks measurable and useful (if they're the sort of things you find useful) rather than pretty 'meh' as ZOS 10% XP boost certainly is.

Just like how the imperial city and spell crafting are "in the works"?

Although, we'll get this first because they can charge crowns for haircuts pretty easily.

I could explain how dumb it is to offer to pay for free things. I could explain how it further begs to be bent over for future items that should be included. But for some the 747 just flies over. Were you saying you were interested in a bridge? ;)

It isn't free. It isn't in the game at all. What I was saying is that we asked for barbershop long before B2P announcement. It's just something we want in the game, so we continue to ask wherever there's a chance we'll be heard. I'm sure most of us would prefer to pay for it with in-game gold too, but if the crown store is the only way to get it at all, then so be it. We could staunchly claim we're not going to use it unless it's free, but we all know it's *** and won't convince ZOS. If they put it in the crown store, people will be running over each other to pay for it.

And how many will just bend over, happy they are getting a new candy. No wonder they can keep lying and throwing crap into our faces.

Development is a process, he said they were in the preliminary stages sure, but that to me means it is being worked on.

I'd be more inclined to believe that if Sage hadn't said his nonsense about wanting to implement hairstyles, etc as "a fun RP thing" way back when....and even then, still nothing. Apparently we at least now know what his idea of a "fun RP thing" is... it's the fun of charging us for it in the cash shop.

    Ahh yes
The days when no one ever did anything they liked and received a profit.
