It's either going to be DLC or cost crowns per cut. Well, at least we're getting it.

    Thank you.

Personally I think it should be something that's available to all for gold coins in the game, not through the Crown Store. But let's hope if it is indeed in the Crown Store, it will be a quite robust system! (e.g. give us basically the full suite of character customization options available at creation)

Personally, I think we should all get one free use, since some of us have been waiting since pre-release to fix errors made by not being able to zoom in on our faces before the first patch.

I just hope a different hairstyle doesn't come in the form of a costume. That would be terrible.

From my experience pretty much all MMOs charge you for something like that. Some might allow you to do minor modifications for free or for ingame money (like Eve Online), but you'll have to pay for complete/full edits in pretty much all of them.

Didnt you expect this game to develop like this? I think it was clear since the freemium announcement.

I just hope firstly that you can buy changes with in-game money and secondly that there are no barbershop exclusive hairstyles or tattoos etc that you could not add in character creation at the start.

Rift's barber shop allows a full respec. using in-game currency, Trion didn't use it as a cash cow, what ZOS decides to do will be an indication where this game is going DLC-wise.

Now that game is going B2P what you expect was going to happen? At least now we'll start getting features that should have already been in the game in the first place.

Blizzard has a free barber shop since I believe TBC, they even unlocked char designs like skin tone etc. with their last big patch.

To pay for a complete overhaul is understandable, but for a barber shop where we only change tattoos, hair or jewelry? :D

Time will tell I guess ;) maybe it will never come like the Spell Weaving or DB and Thieves guild :'(

Well, they could always make a barbershop where every change you make adds up to the total.
Everyday hair/makeup/adornment/haircolor changes add gold cost to the total, "remake" shape/voice/size/skin/eyecolor changes add crown cost to the total, fiddle until satisfied, then click "purchase" and pay the combined price for your new appereance.
Possibly the easiest way to implement the whole thing... at least from our side.

That said, I hope there WILL be barbershop-specific hairstyles/tatoos/adornments you couldn't get at character generation, but have to unlock through in-game archievements or research or finding a style book... just like dyes...

Thieves guild is certainly coming methinks, the justice system paves the way for it... might be DLC of course. Dark Brotherhood, same.
Spellweaving... that one I guess is coming, someday, though I would think it also may require a good deal more work balancing then just adding a new guild with their storyline... still, maybe they'll surprise us with it coming sooner then I fear?

BtW, the only MMO I ever played that had full character remake for in-game money was Star Trek Online. Which made their profit through "Pay to Win", requiring all good stuff to be paid for through the cash shop (and the best stuff in lockboxes for even more money grabbing... as long as we never see lockboxes like that in ESO, I will happily sacrifice a sweetroll to the gods of zenimax every friday the 13th... ;) )

Paul Sage actually never said a barber shop was in development. He said they were in the beginnings of investigating the idea. Could you be a little more vague? This is really no different than the answer that has been given every single time this subject gets brought up. If it's been "investigated" at all it's been a discussion of ways to monetize it. That's all.

I wouldn't mind hair styles bound to achievements ;)

As for the Spell Weaving, they said in an interview that it is on hold now due the CS. They focused on that so they cut the other things and I think this also applies for DB and TG :(

The Imperial City was supposed to come as well, but it seems like CS took every Dev they had so those things were somehow not further developed :(

Well I'm fairly happy with my girls as I am. I'd only want a barbershop to remove the tattoo on my orcs chest - I kept her armour on during creation so didn't see it - and if they added a tattoo anything like the one I really have then I would like my bosmer to have that instead of the ones she has now (black outline of a butterfly on the upper arm please ZOS).

I mean LOTRO squeezed the players out of every penny but the barber there was still paid for with in game currency. Possibly if they had introduced the barber after they went F2P rather than from the start things might have been different though.

Not in the least bit new. Former LOTRO player of six years. Seen all the very worst that a cash shop can stock. I'm just hopeful - hopeful - that ZOS are smart enough not to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs just so they can have one nice hot Sunday dinner.
