Respect, power, skill

I respect skill and dedication.

I do not respect time invested without acquiring skill.

The champion system is just that, no respect.

You acquire power thru invested time and gain an advantage over those that has not invested the same time, no matter if you acquired actual skill or not.

This champion points system is build for those who did not manage to acquire a successful life, family, job. The very same that in most games can not compete with the strong, smart, skilled.

Champion points should be gained by proving you are a champion, not simply by grinding and investing time.

If patch 1.6 proves anything, it's that zenimax has no clue what they are doing. After all, everything that was before 1.6 they now cast into the flames. Is it then strange that they again act without fully thinking it through?

The game, still has a lot of potential. The champion system design however should be redesigned. I hope they wise up in time.

You really think they are going to redesign an entire system that people are expecting by next month?

On a scale of one to Monkey tap dancing on Mars, how likely do you think that is?

Seems like someone followed the crowds and ended up in the wrong genre.

You may wanna try a MOBA?
LOL, DOTA2, or how about the all new heroes of the storm.

Those are 100% skill based game that requires a lot of dedication.
Yeah, maybe you won't find much respect there (everything has a hitch).

But please don't try to spoil MMORPGs because you don't like them.

Stupid thread. You have no respect for those without a 'successful life, family and job'? Do you realize how arrogant and close-minded this makes you sound? You can have a family, job and even hobby, with still a lot of spare time to spend on this game - specifically obtaining champion points. For those who don't, that is their issue. You self prioritize how to spend your hours.

It does require dedication to obtain champion points, because you actually have to earn experience points to get them, which not all have the patience to do. The champion system is a progression system, made for those who have a lot of time, to progress their character further. It is only logical that those who spend more time on a game will have a stronger character.

And how do you suggest this is done? The champion system progresses exactly like leveling, only harder to achieve and not meant to be maxed out by anyone anytime soon.

You're taking the game way too seriously if you're discriminating players based on how successful you feel their life is.

    LMAO..

This right here is why MMO's are going down hill.. All these kids want it all and want it FAST without any time investment.

I wonder... If everyone was like the TC would the first MMO's have ever gotten off the ground at all. .
Anything useful that players are wanting added into the game all fall under the category of "Yer ruinin my 'mersion!" Sallington

Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

Wow, a game where you gain skills, abilites and superior equipment through time spent?
It's like ESO is an MMO or something...

This is such a stupid thread.
It's not determined by how much time is spent in game, but how much you do in that time.
I know people who have been playing from day one, and still haven't maxed out a character. They have spent alot of time in game, but not earning xp. They will do other things, such as side quests, farming mats, etc. This isn't a determination of their 'skill'.
I also know people that maxed lvl and still have no idea what they are doing.
So it is not just time spent. It is the use of that time that is crucial.

If you want to cry about unskilled people being stronger, you must be clearly unskilled.
I was doing pvp at lvl 32 going against v10 enemies. I still managed to get emp, at lvl 32, while others on my faction were maxed vr. I was competing against an organized guild on the leader board.
How did I manage that? Skill. So stop being a little bi*atch.
No matter what you do, there will always be someone better than you. In saying that, there is probably heaps of other people who are worse than you.

If you can't handle not being the best or the competitiveness , play a solo game.
Fun comes from diversity, balance kills diversity.

Because all the evidence we have .. the transition to B2P being the most glaring .. is that pandering to the hardcore with THREE content updates solely focused on hardcore-favoured gameplay (trials, speedruns, etc.) is the way to get vast numbers of players able to sustain a game for years .. er .. wait.

I got to this point in the post and was kind of nodding along. I'm one of those people who has been "playing" (not from day one, but long enough to get the High Hrothgar loyalty pet) and has not maxed out a character.

I explore, I role play, I have fun. Not too long ago I went through Toothmaul Gully in a group with a couple of friends who'd never done it. Not only had I done it before (with multiple characters) but the character I was playing was high enough level that she wasn't getting any XP for anything there.

I still had fun. I also picked up a really cool huge sheild that leveled to me, which I promptly improved the heck out of.

Anyway, then I read the rest of this post.

Well ... that doesn't sound fun to me, but then it doesn't have to. I guess we do agree on one thing. It's what you do that makes or breaks your game experience.

And different strokes for different folks. There is plenty of room.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
