Gear and the Removal of Vet System

Hi Zenimax, I was curious as to how the removal of the Vet System will affect gear. I know that there are going to be a myriad of changes with the 1.6 coming out and all the gear is changing. But with the removal of the vet system, all the gear will change again (work, work). I was wondering if vet14 armor will scale the same as vet1 armor of the same type. My main concern is, should I buy vet14 PVP bags when they are released in 1.6 for my main, OR should I level my alt and buy vet1 bags, which will be usable by my main in the future and are cheaper.
ask me about Bruma Bratz, the citizens barracks for the people of Bruma, Cropsford, and Vlastarus. For the people, by the people!

Still we don't know anything and ZOS is yet to comment.
Mos probably level will be removed but stats stay the same. The amount of resource and type used will set its value and bonus. They will also CAP this so you cannot get more than a current VR14 piece and allow this to go up with new zones and resources in the future.
I think this change will actually be more simple then we think

Still all this is pure speculation.

I wouldn't count on Vet levels going anywhere for at least a year.

they wont remove th vr14 ranks ever I think, since it will it sooo much harder to make the gear right, since there is still need to be a huge different in what the vr1 gear and the vr14 gear is now, If they make them both vr1

and since they have not even spoked that much or even so, since they announce b2p. you might as well forget it.

also vr14 will be released on consuls

logically they should scale everything UP all the dungeons and trials are scaled to play with endgame gear. It would be a lot easier to make all vet gear this level then to nerf it all then have to rebalance all the content. seems kind of like a no brainer. at the very least scale it to v5 for the first extra alliance v10 for second and v12 for craiglorn and dungeons v14 for hardmode gear?
and with no equip restriction you could skip grinding and buy v14 sets if you dont want to play through and go strait to endgame
and yes its speculation but hey that can be fun.

We haven't heard a peep from ZoS in regards to phase 4 in a very long time.

Phase 4 was supposed to be the last phase of the Champion System in which they remove Vet Ranks and install Seasonal Gear. <-- Which kinda answers your question. Seasonal gear is supposed to be a Tiered system where you would have access to the highest Tiers based on in game experience and achievements. For each new season, the previous season's gear was supposed to be available for cheap so that players would never really be any more than one season behind the most active players.

That's as far as it's gotten though. Just a rough theory on a potential change in the future. And it's been a long time since we've heard anything more about it.

If you read between the lines, it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon, if at all.

And sadly, these days, you must read between the lines with ZoS.

If they add "Seasonal Gear" where people can just go buy it, how is that any different than putting it in the Crown store? Either way they add it in, it will KILL the Blacksmith Crafting as the best gear dropped will be bought....There goes the economy and the whole point in crafting.

When I said cheaper, I meant much easier to get. I think they had a token or badge system in mind.

i get the feeling they are going back on another thing like removal of veteran ranks. they probably gonna slap on 20 more levels of them and say deal with it and enjoy...

If Vet levels are still available on console release then there should be a greater inertial pull to keep them. People in general continue in the game to progress. If they wipe away your progress, that will cause hilarity to ensue even in a f2p situation.

Look at the "your experience will be tracked" posts as a precursor.
