Can anyone explain to me in a few short sentence why do you think NB is nerfed hard in 1,6. and why does everyone cry so much.

I saw a youtube vid on NB in 1,6 from the youtuber Deltiagaming that goes over the changes for NB and from what i saw i tought its preety darn fine..

I always pictured NB as a stamina based assassin (huge mellee dps) styles altough this games does break general stereotypes about classess.

Note that i do not claim that in know 100% that this is a good patch for NB's im just stating that it feels good in my opinion.

Now i want you to tell me if im wrong and why am i wrong.

P.S. im asking this because im a new player and im greatly interested in PvP content so starting a class that is gonna be "broken" for the next few months is not my thing cuz i have limited playtime.

Thanks all!!! :)

All I know is that my Nightblade on PTS is cutting through everything, including world bosses, in Upper Craglorn with no issues. I don't feel weakened at all.

Is that a stamina or magicka NB.

I ask this because i cannot choose between the both of them. I prefer my Stamina build for PvE bosses and dungeons.

But I prefer to go magicka for PvP with just using: camo hunter/ambush/suprise attack/soul harvest.

I choose Breton NB so i could go mix between stamina and magicka. Both times i can reach softcap.

But since softcap is removed Breton might be better suited for Magicka. Without a softcap i know i would have made myself an imperial but since i am Breton now i am not sure. I did some testing on PTS but that was mainly entering towns with a huge sword and swing it around while pickpocketing NPC's and killing pigs and men and mice.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

U see... so many good and positive reviews of ppl enhancing their gameplay experience and yet......SO MANY CRIES.....

I honestly dont understand community sometimes...

It seems like if they nerf 1 ability and buff 5 other abilities people still see it as a nerf and whine ;S...

Being critic of the changes is good, when changes truly are bad...but being overly-critic always is just pure selfishness..

    Thanks for reply guys

Stamina-based weapons (bow and dual-wield), but my bars are fairly balanced between magicka and stamina abilities. Prior to 1.6, most of my magicka went towards stamina regeneration, but I'm already finding that I'm much more effective now when I alternate between resources to maximize my damage.

I think most of it has to do with bugs, not nerfs. Deltia NB looked interesting and powerful, but was using a tank build with sword and shield I don't see many making a NB just for that.

Deltagaming is upbeat on all the classes in 1.6, but if you watch all his videos for the other classes the impression I got was NB is relatively weaker.

No not how I saw it... He said he might start playing the night blade more instead of his DK....

Improvements go in this order below... We already know that sorcs will be changing in the next patch.. After its all said and done I believe DKs will actually receive the least love in the next patch.....

    1. Templar
    2. Night Blade
    3. Dragon Knight
    4. Sorc
    PVP DEADWAIT
    PVP The Unguildables

The most survival build. Sword+Board took took a hit...with update 1.6

-The cost + mitigation i previously enjoyed, has been diminished.
(you will need to evaluate on your own...but it clear to me)

-Additionally, our potion buff (catalyst) , has been changed into a Utl gen.
(still trying to get my head around this one)...

-Finally, the disassembling of VoB (now broken into two morphs-- either increased mitigation or increase damage...but not both). This along, could prevent us from being invite to the AA / Trails parties (lol)--

And, previous useful skills are being replaced by less advantages skills (e.g. grim focus). Don't get me wrong , Grim Focus is cool, but it only procs on multiple light/heavy attacks (within limited time frame...). And as the old saying goes "an ability isn't very good, if your dead"

With no self-heal on the horizon. We will be eventually (in my opinion) progress into two categories. Tanky Tanks (the new shadow passive helps here) or Glass Cannons (maxed out Weapon Dam ).

    We will survive.

I've been testing my magicka funnel build. There are both nerfs and buffs:
    - biggest nerf is to Veil of Blades together with ulti generation. I know it's been one of the FotM builds - so sweet but too good to last. Veil itself is shorter duration and less protective to caster. Ulti generation takes twice the time it was. The other morph gives now 60% mitigation but without damage. Veil is still strong, but e.g. when attacking sixpacks of welwas, it can be used against every second pack - not on every as it used to be. I am able to deliver Veil protection to AA runs alone but it will not be possible in 1.6.
    - biggest buff is to Blur. It is now dodge instead of miss chance and stronger.
    - mage NBs have now very strong Impale because it uses spell crit.
    - mage NBs will be better healers because resto staff fits in better.
    - Single target damage with Funnel Health is interesting because being cheaper it should allow using more expensive DoTs in rotation. In 1.5 it suffered more of OOM. Needs more testing though.
    - Sap Essence has more mana problems now, but is still good. I am testing it now together with buffed Refreshing Path.
    - The Haste replacement, Grim Focus, has problems. It's too complicated. But it might be usable against bosses, maybe GF and Crippling Grasp as DoTs with Funnel spam. More testing!
    - Mark Target got rid of the debuff to caster, great!
    - Siphoning Attacks got kind of nerf. It has damage debuff, which was mitigated by soft caps. Now when soft caps are gone SA cuts damage dealt way too much.

Overall the build shifts from Veilbot to damage caster/offhealer. The build still works, but there is more testing and tweaking to be done. With one day testing in upper Craglorn with overland mobs it worked as well as in 1.5.

The other ultimates are now more interesting. I need to learn their names. There seems to be life behind Veil after all...

I'm not sure if there are any skill calculators that have been updated for 1.6, so I apologize if any ability names are off.

Passives: Every NB class passive, every Khajiit racial, all Dual-Wield and Bow passives, all Medium Armor passives, top 3 Light Armor passives.

Armor: 5-piece Hunding's Rage (Medium), 2-piece Maw of the Infernal (Light, but I'm actually working on getting a Medium set to try out the 7-piece passive bonus), 2-weapon Night Mother's Gaze, 2-piece Ophidian Spirit set for ring/amulet

Attributes: 40 points health, 20 points stamina

Enchants: Unresistable damage on daggers and bow, mostly stamina on armor, weapon damage and stamina regen on jewelry.

    Mundus: Shadow

    BAR 1
    1- Shadowy Disguise
    2- Veiled Strike
    3- Rapid Strikes
4- Evil Hunter (I've been favoring this, even without Daedra around, for the passive buffs).
5- Steel Tornado (or the new ability that lets me take less AoE damage if that's something I want to avoid)
    Ultimate: Soul Tether

    BAR 2
1- The new Haste replacement that increases stamina regen
    2- Poison Injection
    3- Swallow Soul
4- Lethal Arrow (Kind of an open slot. I change it up based on what I need.)
5- Mystic Orb for AoE or Dark Shades for single-target
Ultimate: Soul Assault (I'll rarely switch this out for Flawless Dawnbreaker if I need the weapon damage boost and/or if there are a lot of Daedra/undead).

As you can see, it's mainly a stamina build, but I have things like Swallow Soul on there for me to keep pumping out damage if I need some time to regenerate my stamina. Soul Tether is an amazing ultimate for AoE damage, but also for survival. I can pop that and go to town on the surrounding enemies with Steel Tornado, because I'm constantly sucking health from them.

I think people will adjust then come up with some strong builds on any class not just NB. One change that kind of had me scratching my head was grim focus which replaced Haste. Haste raised the speed of your standard attack for a certain number of attacks but no one really used standard attacks. So they "simplified" the system that made standard attacks more necessary then replaced it with a skill where you basically have to blitz light attacks to get the full effect. I hope they adjust the number down a little to get the proc to occur, I am thinking 6.
As for my opinion on live my NB is still young (level 30) but on test I seemed to have a lot more over all survivability. Soul Tether is a great controller and is reasonable to get if you hit things without skills. The new skill that replaced Sparks is growing on me, I think both morphs are very strong I prefer the free attack as I can get speed buff elsewhere. I like the escape option with the shade morph kind of get a bounce going with a closer then teleport away.
