Anyone working on a mod to fix the ridiculous numbers in PTS?

Anyone working on an interface mod that reduces the health, mana, and stam calculations back to more reasonable numbers? Or am I just going to have to get used to World of Scrollcraft?

If you ask on esoui comments for the addons nicely. Maybe they'll add option to turn on divided by 10 into their addon.

You probably should get used to it. We all should.

The worst that could possibly happen is to get the player base devided into some that use the actual numbers and some using the "didided by 10"-numbers.

"Look at me I do 5k DPS!" - "Are you a healer or do you use the OldNumberz addon?"

Its just hate the look of the new number conversion, its really hard to tell how much damage I'm doing when my entire screen is filled with floating numbers of +6 digits 64433 looks similar to 643324 however 653 and 6543 are very easy to tell apart.

But big numbers makes you feelz more powerfullz.

By 2.0 we will be doing a million dps and the numbers floating on screen will cause systems to explode.

We are not children that can be tricked this way. We know four quarters is the same as ten dimes or one dollar. When asked which one do you want, adults say the dollar bill, kids say the dimes.
    Why?
Adults know they are all the same thing, children see the dimes as more because there are more of them.

    Come on.

Having played a game since 2004 (released in 2002) where you get around 10 more HP and MP per level, a system which still produces content just as hard as this or any other MMO .. and a fight that took 18+ hours to 'win' .. I laugh at the sort of level these numbers reach in some games, the current numbers are fine we didn't them multiplying by nigh on 10.

What are you trying to do, ZOS, compete with Blizzard for facile umpteen-hundred-thousand health pools?

I imagine the MMO industry is like those silly leashes they use to herd children in daycares, senpai leads children follow blindly always a couple steps behind senpai.

I loathe the WoW-like stats that'll be coming. There's no need for such a large increase.

Yes indeed, after 5 expacs they finally realised the stat inflation they set in train with the first expac (and which they accepted was a mistake some months later) had to be tackled and did what they called a 'stat squish'.

However, at level 100 with less-than-raid-level gear characters still have 250k+ HPs.

The rot set in with Burning Crusade when Blizzard's design meant they had to make all the epics people had built up in 'vanilla' redundant and need to be replaced .. in fact very few players at level 63 were still wearing level 60 epics .. and the way they did it was hugely increase HP/defense so that the new gear was needed; they also nerfed skills and other tweakings to make pre-BC gear unviable after level 61.

While 1.6 isn't an expac, 1.6 shows every sign of repeating Blizzard's horrible mistake of 2006 .. ZOS have learned nothing it seems.

Meanwhile, my FFXI characters at level 99 with only 2500 HPs are just fine. :D

Yup i'm right there with you on these numbers. What was the reason they gave originally? That it was easier to have incremental modifiers if the base number was 10x what it is now?

I don't like the change, but I think the reasoning is entirely different. The change in ESO is primarily to make the Champion System feel more potent, and it affects numbers for all players. Blizzard's changes only affected new gear and progression related to the expansions.

But does it really feel more potent? 0.1% is miniscule no matter how you slice it. I don't know about you, but I couldn't care less about that 2 at the end of 36782. Heck, I don't even care about 80, if I need to calculate something quickly in my head I'll round it up to 36800 anyway.

hence why this change is bad.

I never look at numbers anyways, stat-bars are good enough for me.

But then, I am one of those pesky roleplaying fans who don't pay overly much attention to stats or game mechanics... ;)

In that spirit - I say, yay for big numbers to confuse all the others! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ya they reduce it then double it... in fact it shows that they absolutely learned nothing...
  • cchin256b16_ESO
I just hope they didn't code their game wrong and make all numbers individually defined with no multiplier of any kind for separate classes... Because it would be insanely simple to add an old numbers checkbox in the options menu if they used a universal multiplier integer, or variable depending on what language they use.
