Why are Trophies & Disguises Not a Part of the Collections System?

Why would they give it away when now they can charge you a bunch of money to get the costumes and then charge you for storage space.

What Zenimax gives you with one hand, it takes away with the other.

Don't worry though, there will be plenty of extra bag space you can buy from the Cash shop very soon.....about a $ a slot.

It is those trophies and costumes that really take up the storage space.

The funny thing is that some costumes are part of the collections system, but others aren't. Specifically, any costumes that you earn as a reward (the gem of skeletal visage, dark seducer costume, etc) are part of the collections system, but any costume that you use for a quest isn't, and remains cluttering up your inventory.

I'd imagine that costumes purchased in the Crown store would fall into the same category as the reward costumes, but who knows?

I believe there is now a distinction between costumes and disguises in-game. Costumes are a part of the collection system, but not disguises, which are for specific quests.

That's what it seems to be. My guess is that it has something to do with the fact that disguises meant for quests can be lost/destroyed if you fight during that quest.

I was thinking the exact opposite: I could see the trophies, but the disguises? Disguises are something that's supposed to poof when you're spotted, so I don't know why that would fit...

They are aware we want this and part of the problem with disguises is that disguises are usually used as part of quests so they are trying to work something out where when you get a quest disguise it can unlock a collectible version of it.

So for both disguises and trophies it's not currently part of the system because it's technically more complex to include them. But at least they are aware of our interest and are working on solutions.

I would presume the collection system with pets, mounts and costumes will be account-wide, while trophies and disguises would be per individual character, as they pick them up through their in game actions.

Personally I always thought it would be neat if the disguise would be automatically removed from your inventory when you turn in the associated quest, and a costume of the exact same visuals given with the quest rewards... a bit like the "Gemstone of Skeletal Visage" from that one skeleton quest in shadowfen. But also for all other quests that change your appereance, yet don't give out a disguise (dunmer cultural garb for the quest in Windhelm, altmer party dress for the memory quest in Greenshade, that sort of thing...)

That way the ones of us who like dressing up could have these looks in their collections, yet the disguise mechanic would still remain unchanged (with the chance of loosing and needing to reaquire the disguise if spotted and attacked)
