ESO Neutered my Kitty!

As you can see...
Left = Old - - - - - - Right = New

...they neutered the Heavy Iron Orc armor, specifically the Pants. All that beautiful detail in the chain link has been removed and replaced with... well, I think it looks like crap.

Opinions?

    As for the armor, didn't like Orc before, still don't like it now, but I agree with you in that it gives you a barbie doll look. Kahjiit have bits and bobs too! Earn that 17+ ratting Zeni!

    Almost seems to me like they just jacked up the texture sizes/alignments.

    They made this change because it was Orc armor textures that was causing lag in Cyrodiil...

    It's orc pants, it's probably more accurate with the change. The way they're always angry and aggressive, they have to be compensating for something.

    In all seriousness, the older image hints at a cod piece (like a baseball cup) underneath, whereas the new image looks like what happens when a female wears overly tight yoga pants. I really hope they change this, there will be a lot of references to the digits on a camel's feet if they don't.

    and for the moderators - I'm probably pushing a line with this post, for which I apologize. But seriously, look at that second picture.

    I actually find the drastic downgrade/nerf/destruction of the pant detail to be a lot more noticeable than his crotch. ;)

    The picture on the right is just... not anatomically realistic (OK I know we are talking about a bipedal cat-man so there is some flexibility about what is and isn't anatomically realistic), but still - it just looks wrong.

    Those are TES Orcs not LOTR Orcs... There's a huge difference.


    As for the armor revamp: I hate ZOS's designers for doing that.

    This one has never spent so much time looking at crotch armour before. This one thinks she will pay more attention in future.

    They DID ask for opinions on the new armor. I like the more straight-skinny look of the new pants but mandatory castration and tail -ectomy is hardly worth a trimmer leg line. Maybe the fashion designers need to do some tweaking?

    I have a friend who used to make chain mail armor. Neither of them is accurate, or good looking.

    I prefer the new one since that one at least pretends to hang correctly. I have no idea what is going on with the knees on the left, but that is just wrong.

    The intended thread title was meant to address the castration of the armor detail, but it worked both ways on some level. ;)

    The main thing was the detail destruction.


    That said, some of us prefer to look at male parts and as such our eyes are subconsciously drawn to those areas, regardless of the race. ;)

    Yes. I have been looking at provisioning on 1.6. Moon sugar is gone and fishy sticks gone too. Unless they just forgot them. This one is hoping they just forgot them and they come back in a later version...

    How can I celebrate Fishmas without fishy sticks?

    Edit: To also add the insult to the injury moon sugar has been replaced by beets :(
