Can we get nameplates turned back on?

Now that 1.6 is almost ready, before the console version is released ZOS may want to reconsider their decision during closed beta to disable nameplates.

For those who may not be aware, in closed beta you used to be able to see the name of the player you were fighting in PVP over their head. For some inexplicable reason ZOS disabled nameplates and it was heavily criticized by the beta testers.

After launch when ZOS devs reached out to PRX and other PVP guilds to get their recommendations on how to improve Cyrodil PVP, turning nameplates back on as well as making guild tags a part of the nameplate was one of their main recommendations.

Since some people may not want to have nameplates displayed, make it a toggable setting to turn on/off.

Lastly, if ZOS decides to not reenable nameplates (remember nameplates were initially in the game) then add that functionality to the addon API.

You are talking about something other than the name you currently see above someone's head in PvP?

How are nameplates different from what we have now?

There are some simple reasons why it was removed.
    pst.
It can still be done, talking to the enemy by simply /t(name), however you need to pay attention to the persons name. If they all had name plates, it would be way to easy to troll.

Also, having name plates would make it easier to target individual peoples.
I prefer the chaos that a battle creates. Waiting to figure out who is what class etc. Giving a little advantage of confusion within the chaos, it works both ways.

Having the option to toggle it would be somewhat silly. Most would turn it off. I'm sure there are those that what their name known, but it just makes them an easier target.

As for guild names, I find this a somewhat interesting subject. I think guild tabards should be used more. I hardly see them being used.
I see them on the odd occasion, but not on a grand scale.
Still, this could create targeting and bigotry - 'Oh, you're part of X guild?Well then; I won't help you, you can't join, etc etc
