Wormwood vs. 'Worms'

I remember a few months back I was doing some farming in Rivenspire on my way to a destination. I picked a Columbine and initially left the worms behind. As I walked away, I said to myself, "Don't be that guy" and went back and grabbed the worms. In the short distance to the wayshrine I saw 3 Aspect Nodes in a row (how often does that happen) and the first two gave me Rekuta's and then a Denata. Karma payback in a nice way.

Of course I get to the next zone and the first node I see is an Aspect and it gives me a Ta. So, Karma gave me a pat on the head, then left me alone again to flap in the wind.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Was gonna say "Nice Rez," and then I realized this was a De Ja Vu moment instead.

    Dead horse is still dead.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

When fishing is worth doing, players will start fishing.

When bag limits aren't a problem, people will start being less picky about what they put in their bags.

When merchants, crafting stations, and banks are so prolific that players don't have to go out of their way to use them or spend hours playing without clearing out their bags, then they won't feel the need to leave loot (to include worms) behind.

Until that time, the SELFISH people who expect everyone to play the way that suits them will just have to grouse and whine a lot... or loot the worms themselves and sell them or go fishing with them or whatever pleases them. It only takes a second, right Alex?

So you do it instead of insulting everyone else. What's a second of your precious time out of your game day? More important than a second out of somebody else's game day?

Pretentious BS... go look in a mirror.

Some think cherry-picking a node is 'wrong', others defend the practice,

I mean, there are worse things in the world than harvesting and leaving the worms; it really doesn't make a big difference in the world or the game. It's a pretty minor offense, but it's still an offense--it's still an activity exclusively performed by selfish jerks.
That's just your opinion, and it's probably a majority opinion. But it's still just an opinion. Cherry-pickers have a different opinion, just as valid, just opposed to yours. Personally, I hate to harvest 'plump worms', as they have no use for me. But I will, then destroy them. But as I was leveling, and bag space was tighter, I left them and felt no guilt.

Heck no… plump worms are 10g each in 1.6.

When I was a young n00b, I would run around and gather everything until my bag was full. At the next resource I didn't have yet, I would go to my inventory and destroy some of the bait I had acquired.

Then, when I got to the next node that had a plant that I had in my inventory + worms, I would pick the plant before I realized the worms were there and then feel bad, but if there was nothing I could delete from inventory, I would just leave them.

Of course, now I fish, so worms are valuable to me (and to other players. Stacks of worms/plump worms/crawlers sell for about 500-1000 gold).

So you can probably attribute 95% of the worm-only nodes to people running around with full inventories, because if they are really going in a gathering loop, *not* picking up the worms hurts them as well.
