It is hard even thinking about why you would want to resub. You have already saved the day. Molag Bal has been defeated. You can rest on your laurels and go have a drink in the tavern with your mates. No need to grind way at pointless content.
ZoS made a terrible design error when they created an end game. At approximately VR1 you had saved the day. After that it is all pointless The reason so many left was not the VR system but the realisation that Cadwell's Silver and Gold were totally pointless once you were the Hero of Tamriel.
Sure you should have been able to do Silver and Gold if you wished but there should have been a story line "to be continued' in future content. The Champion system will not solve the vacuum of no relevant story line content.

Got a question for all you over-analytical types that need a list of reasons to play or not play a game.
If you're not going to stay subbed to ESO, what will you subscribe to?

I'm curious about how you don't already dislike the direction it's going? Have you played other TES games?Mathius_Mordred wrote: »If I enjoy my entertainment I don't mind paying for it and I enjoy ESO very much, so I would sub even if I got no benefits other than all the new content. I just hope that once this game fails, and it will, that they hire a competent team to make a decent version. A real TES MMO not a WoW clone with a TES skin.ahstin2001nub18_ESO wrote: »SatchmoJones wrote: »They had to make the payment model change for consoles, no one wants to pay Microsoft and or Sony and a sub on top of it....I just wish it wasn't on console. devils advocate.... they didn't have to F2P the computer version just because the console version was best set for F2P. it would have satisfied both markets to maintain p2p on pc and f2p on consoles, one of which was already supporting the game.
i literally have no trust in zos, so i won't lose sleep over canceling (this apathy is a first for me). the article was a pretty good one. ill probably be canceling post1.6 if it comes before march 17. there really isn't a whole lot of point to subscribe for the reasons in that article. i won't feel bad about "sticking it to the man" though that isn't my intent. after all, they made their bed now they can sleep in it.
An incentive? Like another useless pet? Uh no, i'll keep my $15, I never wanted a stupid ice wraith, or a useless dwarven automaton to begin with.wiz12268b14_ESO wrote: »Bottomline is there is zero reason (other than the tiny perks) to stay subbed past the 17th, unless they offer a DLC at that time or have implemented a known cumulative (or consecutive for people have never unsubbed) loyalty program. I suppose getting 1500 crowns a month might be some perk too but unless DLCs are outrageously priced you an probably get enough to buy a DLC when the DLC is released. But if you are subbed you dont need to buy the DLC then unless you want to replay it after a current sub is lapsed.
Without more incentives I dont see a reason to sub when there isnt any DLC available to access(IMO the main reason to sub in the first place).

Not yet but you can contribute and get in the alpha that is going on. Server is up 24/7 for the most part. It's touted as Ultima zonline and SWG. Housing included in the game. Zos said housing is couple years yet before being considered.
This may be my next game, even in alpha.

I know quite a few people with consoles. I dont know even a single person who has a xbox one or ps4 who doesnt already pay for ps+ or xbox live gold. This whole thing about console people not paying is hogwash.
Actually, it's not. If you read what he says... he's saying that console owners aren't going to want to pay for Xbox Live / PS Plus AND another $15 on top...

They won't though.
I need some more clarification how much 1500 crowns actually is and how much a DLC will cost.

In short, blank this. End of an era. Not specifically for this game, but for sub based MMOs. Go die MMOs, because you're dead to me already.
Wow, that Loot Crate thing seems like a winner! I am definitely going to be giving that a shot.

I've actually been dying to try it out, but couldn't really justify more than one completely unessential monthly payment, with two gamers in the house and only one working at the moment. Plus two kids.
So now I can get over my bitterness at the loss of ESO with some cute little figurines. ^_^

It's because I have a kid that I want to try it! Might save me the trouble of shopping for toys.
