So im just outside of Shad Astula in Deshaan and I try to pick up some Wormwood because at level 22 its like the 7th ingredient i've ever seen, & instead I get 3 Worms. Whats Up With That?

That's just your opinion, and it's probably a majority opinion. But it's still just an opinion. Cherry-pickers have a different opinion, just as valid, just opposed to yours. Personally, I hate to harvest 'plump worms', as they have no use for me. But I will, then destroy them. But as I was leveling, and bag space was tighter, I left them and felt no guilt.MasterSpatula wrote: »Ourorboros wrote: »Some think cherry-picking a node is 'wrong', others defend the practice,
I mean, there are worse things in the world than harvesting and leaving the worms; it really doesn't make a big difference in the world or the game. It's a pretty minor offense, but it's still an offense--it's still an activity exclusively performed by selfish jerks.

No. By leaving the "non-useful" stuff rather than looting it and then destroying it, you're ensuring that the node won't respawn. By ensuring that the node won't respawn you're denying other players useful materials, all so that you don't have to go through the incredibly minor inconvenience of destroying something that you don't want.Lord_Kreegan wrote: »How are they being selfish jerks? Just because you then click on the plant and find only worms? It seems you're the one being selfish by expecting them to play the way that is convenient to you instead of the "logical way".

Whether something is against the TOS or not has exactly nothing to do with whether it's selfish.Ourorboros wrote: »Geez, not looking to get banned again, but it's BS to stigmatize cherry-pickers as selfish. First, this is a game. As long as TOS is not violated, anything goes.
Why the behavior exists also has exactly nothing to do with whether it's selfish.Ourorboros wrote: »Saying a behavior is selfish because it doesn't line up with your values in a game is arrogant. This behavior would likely never exist if bag space wasn't limited, and game mechanics didn't have something to do with it. ZO$ didn't have to put worms in these nodes, and could make nodes refresh once the mat is gone. So, plenty of blame to go around besides cherry-pickers. I may do it more, cuz I know it POs self-righteous tools, and makes me feel more like an outlaw.

some pick the whole thing up, so others dont run up to an "empty" node
Dustman is very useful for this. It destroys bait if you tell it to.
What I would like to see though is a node despawning after a short time if the resource itself is gone and only bugs are left.

Call them anti-social if you want, but they are, and will continue to be part of the flavor of the game. They fit in even more now with advent of Justice system. You cannot stop them or control them, so be prepared to get PO'd. Or learn to accept them, maybe start selling worms (pure profit). If I see a worm only node, I walk away happy with worm in my bag. If you walk away mad/whatever from worm node, it's all on you.
