As far as i know, nothing has changed that would make heavy armor more viable for a 2H user comapred to live. In fact, it got nerfed (constitution only returns magicka/stamina once every 4 seconds, compared to 2 seconds on live).
You will do better because light armor users are more squishy now, but that's it. Be prepared to be very careful with how you spend your resources.
Yeah, I think they should scrap light armor and give the spell crit and mana reduction and regeneration to heavy armor now come 1.6.
They obviously don't care for it or think ahead when making these changes.
but then that would be unfair to medium users.
i always thought that heavy should have TWO skill lines, one for tanking, and one for damage.
The damage one should increase both stamina and magicka damage AND give some defensive stuff. ( but it should not be as good as light/medium armor for their respective builds in terms of dps. )
Then let medium armors have the same stuff as with light and heavy armor merge. Right now I am seeing less of a point in holding on to light armor in PvP if the whole basis of this is to make it the worst damage mitigation out of the three types, mission accomplished. But ZoS better not be surprised when they see no one using it in PvP.
