The 1500 crowns a month alone is enough for me. The other bonuses are just that a bonus. Even tho $15 a mo is not alot to me I dont just flush it down the toilet either. They better be putting out alot of DLC content in a short amount of time.

"Tamriel unlimited" or whatever is not the game I bought into. Had they advertised it as pay us in advance to try stuff marking an ES themed mmo that'll b2p in a year or so... I like consistency so I cancelled and paid 16 for a month of a freemium game I like that was sold to.me as such. I'll try the new thing in march for free because I already have the box, book, statue and a max level character. I ain't mad but there's some.form of disappointment

They had to make the payment model change for consoles, no one wants to pay Microsoft and or Sony and a sub on top of it....I just wish it wasn't on console. The same people that bought skyrim are not gonna be happy with an elder scrolls MMO anyway. Blame the suits, not the devs.

As others have said, now that it's going buy to play I need compelling value to remain subscribed. With no updates coming soon and a general lack of interest in cash shop cosmetics I will not remain subbed. I will keep playing because I enjoy the game of course but until there is real value in the sub I'm not going to maintain it. I just don't see a reason to, and while I completely respect wanting to support ZoS, and I believe that's a perfectly valid reason for others, it's just not a compelling enough reason for me personally.

I know quite a few people with consoles. I dont know even a single person who has a xbox one or ps4 who doesnt already pay for ps+ or xbox live gold. This whole thing about console people not paying is hogwash.

Interesting article. I will be ending my sub no later than the launch of Unlimited...

15/month is irrelevant to me too, however I will not support console development. Its great Zenimax wants to make more money (nothing against that), but I'm not going to invest any of my money (not even .25c) in a product/service unless there is something in it for me. That's how it works in the big boy world.

As per this article, what do I get for my money? Crowns? Worthless to me. Unless it will give me an advantage (stat or ability to craft styles I can make in-game money off of) I don't care about any of the costumes.

Experience buffs? I over-level the way it is, don't need more exp.

So sad, up until a few days ago I thought ESO was going to really make something awesome here... We were going to get 1.6 sometime mid January, after that we were going to get open world PvP with near future Justice System patches, the dark brotherhood and housing were somewhere on the horizon....

Now its all about how "awesome" it will be for Zenimax to launch the console release and how in the wonder world of oz this will increase the amount of revenue that will be spent wisely and gallantly towards a goal (crafting by fairies and good will) of "artistic expression" that will expand Tamriel for the benefit and fun of all.

At least the game is about to be FREE entertainment until either they release a final version of Star Citizen or I just find something else to do.

I hope I'm wrong and things get back on tract of course, but I pretty much gave up hope.

I am dropping my sub when 1.6 goes tlive. The vanity pets we already have is and has been in storage.

As for the dlc I rather pay the $15 or $20 every 4 to 6 months than the $60 to $90 for a worthless subscription. And by purchasing the dlc I get to keep and play it any time where if you pay the subscription you lose the dlc if you stop the subscription.

Aside from zos screwing up the payment every month and closing my account, there is no reason for me whatsoever to continue to sub.
On the one hand I love ESO, I'd like to support it (see repeat payment failures though) and I would like to see it succeed.
On the other hand I have learned to despise ZOS (for various reasons) and I'm not prepared to support them, though I wouldn't go as far as wanting them to fail (though I would have to admit to a certain amount of Schadenfreude if they did).
So my conclusion must be that I will enjoy (hopefully) the game when I can access it for free, but ZOS/Bethesda won't be seeing another copper from me, for anything. They have lost all credibility.

P.S. about other arguments, I'd have to add a) yes there will be an influx of new players but I suspect that influx will be most significant for consoles. Since the pc version and the console version are completely separate, I don't expect that influx to have a major impact for pc gamers. b) for the same reason (separation of pc and console) I fail to understand why they couldn't have two revenue models. P2W for console, for all I care, and sub for pc. I think that would have mitigated a lot of the flak but as it is, I feel the pc gamers are holding the shorter stick.

I've only played this "part time" since launch. I'm already subbed to a couple of other MMO's I play a lot more regularly. I'm also quite active in Planetside 2 (which i'm also subbed to) and Warframe (which is free but takes up a lot of my free time).

I don't have enough time to put into this to warrant subbing to it constantly.

I have a feeling i'll probably sub a month here and there when I put a bit of time in though.

Once it's had a lot more content (Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild mainly) i'll drop one of my other games for this but until then i'll stick with being a part timer.

Actually, it's not. If you read what he says... he's saying that console owners aren't going to want to pay for Xbox Live / PS Plus AND another $15 on top...

"The suits" have known since inception the game would be released on console platform because they have marketed the game as such since the beginning. You did not hear them making excuses or apologies last year to console players about why they were going with a sub model and would not be changing it as it did not fit their development plans. To wit, a delay in console release by exactly one year from the original date they HEAVILY promoted under the requirement of a sub. Not a coincidence in retrospect. Using the console realease as a justification for a "sudden shift" in payment models is not fooling anybody. Sudden is the last thing about this decision. Whether it pans out for them is another story and remains to be seen.

I already unsubscribed but my game time still goes past March 17th by about 3 weeks. I guess I don't see the point in subbing. I also don't want to support them because of their poor communication with their hardcore base in attempt at cash grab.

That said, it depends on how much the "DLC" will cost. I know you get crowns for subbing, but I don't want to have to be subbed to have the DLC so ill be buying them with crowns if I decided to get it. So whatever the cheapest option is, is what ill go with. The xp boosts and all that won't interest me. Ill already have some crowns from being subbed since launch, so its on ZOS. If these DLCs are over 20 dollars though, I'm out.

Depends on two things as far as I can see:
    • The price of DLC packs
    • Whether you want to out-level the existing content at a faster rate with the 10% exp bonus
    Allow cross-platform transfers and merges

For starters I have to get my laptop back and thoroughly test the new Patch 1.6, however, from what I've read so far it seems like 1.6 is going to suck major monkey nuts in terms of PvP, with the change to Impenetrable and Dragonknights getting a major chisel to the balls due to the way they screwed up Ultimates. I was hoping if DKs got fracked to hard I could roll out my NB again. BUT! They made Surprise Attack, a stamina based ability. Which is the stupidest, mind blowing, single most unintelligent move I have witnessed in the patch notes and it makes me angry. I HATE STAMINA BUILDS. But it seems the only way I will be able to compete on my NB anymore is delve into medium armor and dual wield and bow.

As far as the DK buffs/nerfs go. The buffs. Well there are a few neat ones, such as the dragon leap morphs and change to Inferno. But the nerfs make me cringe, Unstable Flame being changed into a stamina ability, Standard of Might getting the cost raised even though DKs rely on battle roar and ultimates to survive. LA getting nerfed which essentially nerfs every LA wearer and most DKs, I'm afraid that my DK won't be able to compete in PvP anymore.

But all in all, I still have to play the game and test 1.6, if it sucks, then back to SWTOR or STO, maybe just play War Thunder and WoT for the next 4-5 years. :disappointed:

To be quite honest I don't like how they're changing so many things that aren't broken in 1.6, the Champion system looks appealing and it probably is, but having 30k HP is meh. I never liked games that had high numbers, "Oh it's so you can see small 1% increases." It's like.. Really? It's one percent! ONE PERCENT! It doesn't matter if you have 100,000 HP. IT'S ONE PERCENT!!!! Sure it's a buff, I'll gladly take it. But it won't save me from a one shot.

    1) I support Zeni
    2) i still like the game
    3) i play (almost) everyday so 15 euro a month is not that big of a deal
    4) i also pay for another mmo but havent played for 2 months so i would cancel that before TESO
    5) B2p or F2P does not change the game for me except more people (i hope)
    6) looking forward to crown store. I want a guar mount. got 500 euro set aside to buy everything
    7) PvP is great

LOL, you really have no idea what a true MT-based game is, do you?

If you think what ZOS have said and done so far is 'hardcore' I suggest you go research SW:TOR or even LOTRO what what a REAL 'hardcore' cash grab in a game with a hybrid payment model looks like.

I have nothing against it going B2P or the cash shop. I dont expect to have consistent year+ long subscriptions after it goes B2P but I'll be sure to subscribe in times when Im playing more often, mainly just to support the game though, but I suppose some crowns and an xp bonus will be nice too.

Im more of a casual/part-time player, but I enjoy the game alot, albeit Ive only really done quests, nothing else yet.

Despite my skepticism, I won't make a final judgement on Tamriel Unlimited until I've seen (and played) it for myself. Anything less would be unreasonable.

As for the sub, if it seems like buying DLC makes more financial sense, I may end up going that route. I will, again, wait and see.
