My thoughts exactly. ESO may not be perfect but the amount of work done on the game hitting almost a 6 week release schedule all year long is enough for me to put it in as the winner.

We all want the game to be successful especially at this critical time, so let's get the word out.

They have treated the sub base very very badly recently....im not surprised they are behind

I would prefer the sub model, but I think it has more to do with Microsoft and the Xbox forcing a buy to play with DLC because of their own payment model.

Don't be that guy, nobody likes that guy. You know that guy commenting on ESO during the MMO face off and talking about how much of a joke it was ESO was in the finals and won? Right now YOUR that guy. If we lose at least do it with grace.

It's not that I disagree with your sentiment.. It's just.. I would rather be second to Wild Star or something...anything else.. :)

eso should be in the single player rpg category as it is a single player rpg with optional co-op. eso had one of the WORST launches in mmo history. people accessing other's accounts by simply logging in, entire characters and bank inventory being randomly deleted, people being held at lower levels for 2-3 weeks due to game breaking bugs, massive amounts of bugs and bots, TERRIBLE leveling system after lvl 50, almost no content updates - 1 zone in a full year. it will never win best mmo of anything as most people had a terrible experience and quit the first month. as a game it is massively inferior to dragon age inquisition aswell.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. I played at launch and though there were some glitches, it was nothing game breaking for me or my guild members. Since that time it's only gotten better while the development team listened to player feedback. That puts it as number 1 in my book.

Can you name a good MMO launch? Even the almighty untouchable WoW had an absolutely horrid launch. All the MMO vets I talk to are of the mind ESO's launch was relatively smooth in comparison to other MMO launches. I can't comment on that since the only other MMO I played was SWTOR about 3 months after launch.

no. i was only critical of eso in that post but i have played all those mmos except wow in the past ~2 years and Marvel Heroes. all of them have massive downsides.

ArcheAge - very fun open world piracy system/boats, trading, housing, pvp, ect. very original and fun in that regard, good launch but the server queues were rediculous the first 2 weeks. i mean 8 hour queues for atleast a week. bad quests compared to eso, very little endgame. download it for ~a month, its fun and has some great open world stuff going on.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - personally i didnt like any aspect of this game. bad quests, grindy a bit, crafting system was actually pretty good, dungeons were meh, combat is o.k. i guess. launch was very messed up for about 5 days or so with huge lag and constant server issues.

Guild Wars 2 - huge letdown to huge a gw1 pvp fan. pvp was sooo much worse, skill system was much worse but the classes were fairly fun, generic quests, little endgame, i cant remember any issues with the launch really.

Rift - great launch, almost flawless. generic but fairly fun quests, somewhat decent dungeons, some good systems like guild housing crafting things and player marriage. decent dungeons/ endgame, very much like wow.

Star Wars: The Old Republic - launch was kind of o.k. great quests, feels a lot more like a good rpg but then the dungeons and whatnot are basically a wow clone. some interesting pvp i guess.

WildStar - terrible launch, serious issues. basically a wow clone with harder dungeons/raids and some really messed up/broken things. has some seriously good hardcore raider potential. when i quit they were still having performance/optimization issues. some people with brand new and good computers were getting 20 fps. i can run all those games including eso maxed out, which has better graphics, but wildstar would give me 20 fps half the time on literally the lowest possible settings. this was a very common issue. they made it so that their focus was on endgame dungeons/raids, but leveling was the only way to get currency due to rewards/repairs. included an infinite currency glitch the first week which i exploited for over a year of free ingame sub time, no repercussions. i might go back in ~6 months and see whats changed.

i dont think any launch was as bad as eso's. i played them all and this launch was absolutely terrible. ESO probly has the best quests of any game (other than dragon age inquisition and bioware single player games) and i like this mmo the best. i voted for it, but im just saying that the first 2 months must have gotten rid of atleast 80% of the player base and made everyone hate it. archeage is the only other mmo i actually thought was very fun besides eso and wow during TBC. rift and swtor were kinda fun for ~2 months i guess. rift and guild wars had good launches.

Marvel Heroes probly has some asian account bots upvoting it or something, pretty sure its p2w garbage.
