Why are crafted armor sets now significantly better than end game PVE sets ?

I noticed that the end game sets like AA Ather and Celerity sets got significant nerfs. To me it seems like they nerfed all the good dps sets actually. Including Soulshine. You can make up the difference with some serious CP grinding...but why nerf the good end game PVE sets and leave the crafted sets ? It seems like you would want to make crafted sets ok...so you can wear them to get the better End Game sets. seems backwards. thoughts ?

Edit. Crafted gear has always been a little better...its just a bigger difference now.

Are you refering to the changes to spell and weapon critical? The values of those got changed for all sets, including crafted ones.

Specifically, ather has 2 percent crit from 8 and might mother went from 8 to 4. Thats across the board though for end game sets. Seems to me like they should have switched the changes and had the lower value on the crafted sets

Why have dropped or crafted better than the other at all, I thought they wanted each to be a useful as the next

    That's not correct regarding Aether.

It's only 2 percent (total) because it's not v14. v14 gold aether gives the same amount as crafted v14 set.

well if i can craft armor that better than end game drops....whats the point of running end game is what im getting at. I mean its fun to run end game which is cool....but getting a super nice Vicious piece after a SO run is great.

so they made the purple pieces less effective so we need to use the gold pieces from the hardmode drop that "were" useless to run before 1.6. Is this a gimmick to get us to run hard mode ?

But a lot of those drop sets are reallllllly cool looking, and I think that would more than make up for their even steven balance with crafted sets

Personally I've been a bit upset that, lately, dropped sets are vastly superior to crafted sets. As a crafter (and someone who loathes every aspect of RNG endgame drops), nothing sucks more than to have your absolute best crafted set, after months of time investment, be trumped by something someone with a little RNG luck can get in a couple of dungeon runs.

It's already beyond absurd that a craft has to put in literal months worth of time on research, and the 8/9 trait sets are absolutely terrible.
    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

That's a completely rational view of maybe why they did this....in addition to some probable in game balancing. The rng in this game is awful
