Crown store, please not be excited about it.

I am sad to see people being exited over this new coming crown store..

Really sad to see people being exited getting shareholder greed version of the game..

And really concerned about people now asking to add stuff in the crown store. Stuff that really should be available to everyone with simple mothly subscription.

Please restrain being exited over greed, instead continue to ask adding stuff that is readily available to everyone who pays the subscription. Let those free riders pay extra for their lack of commitment instead.

I'm about as excited as a cat in a bath about the cash shop. I don't understand how people can see paying for things they said originally would be in game is a positive thing. Personally I plan to never use the cash shop so they might as well be tossing those crowns they send me straight into the toilet. I don't want to support a cash shop and help it grow. But I know I'm in the minority on this and people want shiny new toys and are happy to pay for them...even though they originally said all content would be available in game.

Like with swtor I will buy fluff items from the cash shop, but only with crowns that come from my subscription, I will not be buying the damn things.

Wait. They just had a Reddit AMA, and literally NO answers were about anyone being upset about the cash store. That they're recent ESO Live--the same. It's all good, with no downside, and no one doesn't like it!

Yes, ZOS should have just shut it down... Because that was probably was the most likely road if they stuck with just a sub model.

But why insist on telling people to not take interest in the cash shop? Because if the cash shop fails at this point, the game fails... There will be no going back to sub only model.

I would much rather see things like appearance changes and new mounts and pets and everything cosmetic we've been asking for in the game so we can buy them with regular old gold. But it's pretty clear that ship has sailed and every new thing is going in the cash shop instead.

I couldn't really care less at this point, at best this will be a temporary diversion, at worst another cash shop zombie I would prefer to see dead and buried.

No worries though, it will shamble on in some shape or form for awhile.

On the point, it is popular belief that game has already failed when it changes to free to play. Games continue to exisyt though, but most of them fail by concentrating to milk that nice store of theirs. Er eill see.

In EVE this would never have passed players but here we have too many of MMO lot and game is too much general MMO with TES skin.

God forbid others had differing ideas of what was good and bad for this game. Not everyone thinks the Cash Shop is a 'greed' thing. Not everyone jumps to conclusions long before they get a look at what it is.

Theres plenty of people on these forums that are in agreeance with you over the Cash Shop. You can find them in just about every topic on the front page.

As for the 'free riders'. They arent free riding. They have to pay for the game still and they have to pay for the DLCs as well. Your choice to sub comes with the benefits of a monthly stipend of Crown Points, Rental of DLC and 10% Boosts.

Youre either going have to come to terms with whats changed at some point.

And as seen in other games, those people in agreement with cash shop go silent when it usually turns to what they thought wont happen.

Besides i cant see why be happy of something that was promised for subscription but now is put behind cash barrier instead. Do not be so naivr that you believe you will get anything else than quest content for your sub. Crowns you get most likely are so small amount that you need to pay multiple moths to get something you would otherwise get for sub.

STO is best example. Dev team communicated similarly. They seemed to have passion to make a fair cash shop. Shop did not profit enough, devs and lead designer got changed and then we had pay to win shop which was also very expensive.

Until we actually SEE the cash shop any supposition on whether it is motivated purely by greed and will be horrible for the game is just pointless yelling. This type of payment model has shown to be successful with many solid games doing well by adopting it.

I'm holding back my judgement until I see what sort of prices they're going to charge in the cash shop and that will determine.

If you want to look at it as "stuff we should have gotten just for subbing" you can still do so. If you're a subscriber you will be able to save up your crowns to buy the DLC or you can spend them on the costumes,mounts, or pets instead. While I'm not crazy about the way they announced and handled the change. The change itself could be a positive one as it allows more folks to stick around and continue playing even if they've reduced their play time. In a sub model many have to justify that monthly payment and if something else comes around they'll just drop the older game to go play as they can't justify doing both with a sub. This takes that strain off and in theory should help with the retention of players and encourage new players to give it a try as well.

We really have no idea how it will turn out, so rather than trying to tell folks not to be excited (not really your right) Petition for the addition of some in-game acquirable items beyond the six free costumes you get and several breeds of horse mounts you can buy or the free dwemer spider pet you get for completing a dungeon. I would support the addition of a guar mount available in-game for gold but that would be about it. At this point it doesn't matter what should have been, this is what we have to work with now so why not focus that energy on refining the system we're stuck with. At least that way we still get to enjoy the game we love.
