Did they promise? I remember reading that they were working on it for the future, but I don't remember seeing anywhere that they absolutely guaranteed that it would happen. Maybe I missed it.

Eric Wrobel confirmed that Spellcrafting is still coming.

Some people want to convince unknowning players ZOS is a bunch of liars, go back on their word, and will rob them blind.
Telling people that ZOS promised this and promised that and has yet to deliver or gone back on the promises. Hoping people will get swept up in fear.
These are the same people at school, at work and in communities who spread rumors and lies to watch people go at it with each other. They enjoy watching drama and conflict.

I wish more people were able to be shown a peek into what we may or may not get without getting belligerent when it isn't in the game a month or 2 later.

A comment from someone of importance like Ferrel, stating "No more Major Updates will occur after 1.6" is reason to fret when the game is obviously not finished, and a spell crafting system, and the PvP side of the justice system can both be considered "Major" updates.
ZOS is tight lipped not because of players like me, as I don;t need them to tell me what they are doing to know (most of the time). Zos is tight lipped because almost ALL companies are as a policy and have very restricting GM, Forum Admin Policies which prevent them from being anything but vague without expressed permission.
CCP, and Red5 being the exception.
- (Red5 is Firefall, in which the devs actively play the game and even belong to guilds and will chat with you openly about what they are working on and it's progress or lack there of)
- (CCP is EvE Online, and while not as Open about development, as Red5 Devs, they do play the game hold open events, and chat it up with the players, even belonging to Player Corps. CCP does however have a CSM Councile made up of Players which they fly to Iceland twice a year to advise them on and discuss game-play and future development with.)
Both of these games have the mentality that the player base is their greatest resource, and they use it as such and people love them for it.
---
On another note,
Players like me, instigate change, awareness, and create threads which go on for 100's of pages, giving the dev's great insight into the player communities feelings on various subjects.
Many of the changes which have been made to the game over the last 6 months have come directly, From My threads (And others like me) and the feedback off them.
So yes my threads are belligerent and volatile, because that is what gets peoples emotions and intellect pumping, that is what causes debate and argument, that is what causes..... Improvement, and Change, and garners attention of both Devs and Players alike.
People like me, are a necessary evil, for the progress and perpetuation of a stable system. Which is why "most" of our threads are left alone and not deleted or censored by forum mods, who honestly have every right to do so but don't.

Hundreds of pages? Really now? You do realize that all of the threads you've posted are visible right? You have 1 thread in nearly a year that has 4 pages.
I guess that someone that is comfortable lying about the pages in their threads would also be capable of raging over a feature being off the table that ZOS has clearly stated is still on the table.
Hmm so after Arena Bethesda released Daggerfall that while an awesome experience when functioning correctly only did that perhaps 10% of the time yet the TES universe thrived. I can guarantee that I will by the next single player iteration regardless of this games success or failure.
Here is the thing you have it in your head they promised you this feature or that feature when all they stated was this is what we are developing and the direction we are trying to move in. Things changes quickly so ZoS have to adjust for what they see as good for the game and their company. Because you don't agree with the changes it is immature to say if you don't give me the ball in the shape, color, and texture with the stars and poka dots that I believe you promised then I will abandon it and demand my money back from a secondary company. Here is the question does the game work? Yes! Are you able to log in and play the current representation whenever you want? Yes! Do they give notice when the product will not be available due to necessary functions any continuous software must go through? Again yes!

Malpherian wrote: »This feature has been demanded by players since Alpha and Beta in Mass, and it is the only ray of hope they have for bringing the TES fanbois back in droves, because it essentially makes your class unlocked and 100% customizable (Just like the other TES games).
The "Classes" and their limitations and requirement to re-roll a character, was the reason the masses didn't sub after beta and the reason the release utterly flopped. It was a key component which was left out, which would make the game so much more then any other MMORPG. It should have been the priority update months ago.
