New Rule: If you must spam WTS in zone chat without a price, don't get mad when I lowball you.

Especially when your prices are higher than the trade kiosks. Seriously. Why would I buy from you when I can buy from my guild? Learn 2 Trade Noobs!

Yeah I always love it when someone says "PST with Price" and I shoot them a price that's 10-20% below the average Guild Kiosk and they're like "NO, it sells for XX". I check Guild Kiosks every single day (most days) for other reasons so I quite familiar with the pricing of most items. I just shrug it off and find someone else who understands my offer is in-line and takes it.

Completely agree, although if they're a new player and they find something I'll usually be honest with them and tell them the actual price so they don't lose out on some money.

Crazy story that happened to me once though, so while I was in zone chat once some new players were asking how much certain items were selling for on average. (Motifs, Recipes, etc) So I told them the prices that I had normally saw them at over the last few weeks.

Mind you I hadn't been online for 2 days due to work. All of the sudden someone just starts messaging me saying "What are you doing? Why are you listing your prices so low." (apparently all recipes and motifs had jumped up in price by a lot in those two days) So I message back saying those are the prices that I have seen them at on average.

Long story short, the person that messaged me accused me of trying to swindle people out of money just because I listed prices they didn't like on the Zone chat. They also filed a false report against me and had all of their friends do that as well on top of literally threatening me. This happened awhile ago, but CS was very nice in helping out with the whole ordeal.

I have seen 5 ancient elf styles in a row in guild stores for 19k, 20k, 20k, 21k and 22k. I have been drinking a couple of beers, so my math isnt perfect, but since the guild gets a cut, I assume the sellers of a 19k style makes around 18k gold? Also, selling in zone chat is an immediately at sale for everyone, so you dont have to wait until someone visit the guild store. My point is, zone chat should be a little bit underpriced. Regular crafting mats like void cloth and voidstone, is between 600g and 800g a stack in guild stores as good prices, but I have several times bought stacks for 500g in zonechat.

Right now I am having a break from the game. I log in for writs and hirelings. So a stack for 500g is profit for me, since one writ gives you 600g.

On the flip side, when someone is trying to swindle new players out of money in their WTS's (Breton Motif 2.5k..... Lol) I go out of my way to publicly make sure people know thats a crappy sky-high price. I've seen others go out of their way to do the same, and it makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.

only thing that ticks me off is when you low balled a already low price.
for example ill sell Hawk Set piece for 30k it cost 35k-39k in guild stores and I get offered 20k for it? No thanks I could sell it for 35k if I wanted to be a jerk.

That annoy's me to no end, like really? You want this "Item" for even cheaper?!?! Especially if its a motif that's extremely rare to find like Imperial/Dwarven(complete book). There was a Skyrim meme that I would would place here if I could only find it about selling to vendors.

Back when I made my one AD character that only lasted 20 minutes before I became disgusted with myself and deleted it, I asked in zone for a stack of iron ingots. these sell typically for 500-800 in zone.

the person tried to sell the stack to me for... it was either 1.2K or 1.5K... either way I told him that He would have to lower his price, which he did. IDK if he tried to swindle me thinking I was new, but I still remember it to this day.

I also recall someone selling a khajit motif for 2K... unfortunately, he coned someone into buying it, no matter how many of us in zone called him out on it.(heck some people even defended the guy)

I publicly blast whoever is trying to make a ridiculous high sale on a item if they are spamming it in Zone Chat. Ive also seen 3 people constantly undercutting each other, to which the guy with the lower price told the other 2 "Suck it"

That is too much effort. I usually just lowball and move on. I can't be bothered to rage at somebody over their prices for 5 minutes.

I'd do the same with my WW, but mine is always gone the same day I get it. Offer it up in guild chat, and if no one wants it I head to Riften and offer it up in zone chat. Always free. I feel like half the fun is turning people, so it makes me happy.

I don't mind when people don't automatically include price for x in their advertisments.

I do mind is when I ask them how much they want to x they respond with "offer".

So I lowball them.

Then they get mad and say "but x is worth"

And then I say, well I did ask you what price you wanted....

I don't get mad at lowballers, I just put them on ignore. If you don't have the decency to offer a fair price for something, don't expect a decent response.

This is exactly what pisses me off. They know the price, and they know what they want for it, but they are hoping they get a better offer, so they don't list the price they want. Then, when I go lower than the average they get mad and accuse me of trying to scam. It's hypocrisy because they were the ones trying to scam first by not listing a price and hoping for more than average.

I have one incident in mind that happened yesterday right before I made this thread, but the details would be debatable. Let's just say the guy would not budge and told me I was trying to scam him, when all I was trying to do was cut a deal for multiple Dwemmer Motifs. Even though I wanted to buy a bunch of them, he insisted on above average prices.

The guy should have given a price in zone chat if he didn't want to negotiate. And when he accused me of wanting to resell the items, I was like "Of course I want to resell them. What do you expect?" As if trying to make a profit is a crime or something. When I told him that my guilds sell all of them for cheaper, he started talking *** and then blocked me.

So basically, he's inviting everyone to PM him by spamming zone chat, just so he can talk *** to them if he can't scam them. List a price next time noob. When I see no price, I will always assume it is a clearance item that must go and expect it to be cheap.

Oh, come on now guys, why are you surprised that people want to pay less than the kiosks? Don't you know that people want most everything for free?
