When I first heard about the changes to Pay to Play, I wasn't all that surprised or worried. I actually think those changes will contribute to ESO's health by adding more players to the community. So for that, I commend you ZoS - At the end of the day I think this transition, coupled with the new progression (Champion System), is a good idea.
The problem, at least for me, arouse after reading some of the responses given during the Q&A on Tamriel Unlimited.
From ZOS_MattF:
1) We are not going to keep up our 2014 pace of updates in 2015 - and our future update pace will focus more on new adventures and game experiences than system changes. It's time to let the game breathe a little - we've done so many new features so quickly that we want to make sure everyone is on the same page with us. 1.6 alone has a complete rebalancing of most player abilities - we don't want to do that again, for example. Our #1 priority right now is getting Tamriel Unlimited launched on PC, and then focusing on a successful console launch. While we do those things, we have other teams already working on DLC and expect to see that start rolling out at some point after console launch settles down.
-> This was expected already and it is understandable. The problem is what @ZOS_MattFiror said next.
2) yes, 1.6 is going to be the last major update before console launch, for obvious reasons. We will continue to do interim updates as necessary. As Paul said in another thread on this AMA, we're now developing for 4 platforms at once, and it is inherently more complex. We're committed to having content hit all the platforms at roughly the same time, so it will necessarily slow things down a bit.
-> So, what does this means? 1.6 has no new playable content other then the quests of the incomplete Justice System. There are no new Dungeons, Trials, Adventure Zones; essentially 1.6 is a utilitarian patch with changes to previous content.
That wouldn't be a huge issue if we were to have a new patch in the next couple of months. ZoS said that Imperial City was pretty much completed and while it wouldn't be released with 1.6, that it would be coming soon. Am I the only one that doesn't consider end of June or even July as soon?
So, that is the question I have for ZoS. What are we supposed to do now in your game? New mounts are cool, but they are not so great if we have no where to go with them! And then to add salt to wound, comes @ZOS_MattFiror next slip of tongue.
3) This remains to be determined - I've been pretty clear that PvP justice is pretty scary from a game balance perspective, and we need to be very careful how we implement it. If/when it makes it in to the game, it will not be as part of a paid DLC.
-> Really?!? After all we heard about the Justice System as the big update to PvP... You say it may never come?
So... If I understand correctly for the next couple of months we can expect... Nothing from ESO? No new PvE content, no new PvP content (shouldn't surprise me since ZoS hasn't released anything PvP related since the game first came out, and yet... It does surprise me)... What are we supposed to do for the next 6 months of this game Zenimax?
I know you are making the game buy to play, but I assume you actually want players to keep their subscription. Well, I am willing to, but I need to have a game to play! I mean, there are only so many times I can crush the mage, the warrior, etc, with my guildies! Now, I understand that you will all be very busy with the console release, but that can't justify completely abandoning the community of players you already have formed.
So... Here goes again, what are we supposed to for the next several months? We won't take that long to relearn our classes and there are only so many alts we can level.
On a side note, how is 1.6 the last large patch you will release until console is out? Are you really planning to re-release your game with the remains of the failed veteran system still in it? Really? You really want to annoy the console community by having them level to veteran rank 14 just to lose those levels?

Yea. This all just appears to big a big cash grab for less Content. Also what about the "Raiders". Everything is already old and kinda boring at this point. What the hell are we supposed to bridge time with. As far as we know so far we wont get any new trials until probably Murkmire comes out.
That could be another Year of just AA, HR and SO. Many End Game players will leave sooner or later. With slowing down content on top of that, you dont do any good for the game aswell.
At this point it seems they dont care. All they care obviously anymore is of how to increase the Revenue. Doesnt matter what the players think. I think Nobody wanted Tamriel Unlimited. Even Paul Sage looked like he dont want it. (Look at his facial impressions during the last ESO Live)
Its like we get drastically slowed down with getting new Content just because Consolol players can catch up. They obviously dont need good Trial content. Cosnidering the "epic" movement that comes with the limitation of Controllers.
But why the hell should we PC players, who paid for the console version on top of it, suffer from that. And a cash shop is no new content. A costume or some pets arnt what i consider content. Stuff like that doesnt want me to play the game longer. Good gameplay content keeps me playing. Whithout that, do your math.
If they wouldnt change the update schedule we had prior to update 6, everything would be fine and actually tamrial unlimited would be unlimited.
But this now is more like Tamriel Limited than everything else.

I believe there is a Raid within the Imperial City that is only accessible if you have PvP control over the city. And Hrothgar will probably have a raid or two... We just need them to release the content.

They havnt said anything about it. Wrothgar is supposed to be a Solozone. They showed kind of a Dwemer Dungeon. But we shouldnt be sure that will be a trial. I am pretty sure Murkmire will get some Trials. But thats so far out now.

I am sorry but you subbed players are no more concern for us. Console players and those who will be attracted to cash shop items are our new sweethearts. There are only so many vanity items they can come out to cover the huge hole that is the lack of playable content currently in ESO. I mean, I want Guar mount as much as everyone else, but I am really tired of the Mage and The Warrior... Even SO will get old soon, so... We need something new and shinny to distract us until console is out and working.

Let me try to answer for Matt.
I am sorry but you subbed players are no more concern for us. Console players and those who will be attracted to cash shop items are our new sweethearts. How to get them to buy the game and crowns are our first priority. With that said, I don't really care if you have anything to do in game right now.
At least, that is the message his answer appears to sent to me and I can't think of other interpretations.
I am not all against vanity items. In fact, I AM going to get my self a guar mount. What I am saying is that is 3, 4 or even more months without major updates something you can accept?
Oh, I want my Guar mount too, I am just afraid I won't get to use it much since I will have no where to go with it... >.>

Or how about necromancy? It hasn't been announced but it's something I was hoping they'd develop in the near future.

We have to:
Download the PTS and test 1.6.
Continue grinding, questing and PvPing to provide ZoS with the information they need to balance activities with XP and CP generation.
Continue working on debugging the game.
Everything needs to be fixed in time for the console release, so stop complaining and get back to work!
Oh, and we need to carry on paying our subs so that ZoS doesn't have any cashflow problems before they can release the console game...

They are still working on Spellcrafting and plan to release it, but Shor knows when.
