Aoe_Barbecue✭✭✭✭✭I had considered using Searing Strike in place of Lava Whip because it's moderately more efficient than Lava Whip for damage per magicka. But the loss of burst is no bueno tbh. Do you not run into frequent issues not being able to burst self-healing targets down? The free proc off Flame Lash helps narrow the magicka efficiency gap a bit too.1 -

I also have this exact line of question. One of the big deficiencies of the DK skills is lack of burst -- I find myself adding Engulfing Breath + Searing strike in addition to lava whip when I'm going solo so that I have enough damage to people down. Whip also is mitigated by armor and block. =(0 -

I run burning ember, because if they get away from me it'll heal me when it runs out which is always nice. As for the difference, I'm stamina heavy so Lava Whip is not exactly the most efficient ability for me anymore, but main reason i switched is one its an extra dot so it knocks stealthers out of stealth, and two it sets off Valkyn Sorcia set or whatever basically giving it a chance for basically a free lava whip every now and againhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXpX7JMwRXtczc5GTrIYRIw

He was gaining ult at a decent speed but I think you might be confusing his standard shift as a new standard when it's actually just refreshing/moving his original standard.

I could tell and I probably would do the same thing in similar situation. Recently I got three kills in one keep defense by using wrecking blow to knock people over the the balconies above the flag.
