We're supposed to look for relief from Microsoft? Really? The company that is probably responsible for this decision in the first place? That's like calling the IRS to complain that your accountant tells you that you owe some taxes. This is a brilliant strategy. As for communicating with Sony, do that and all of North Korea will know about it and publish the whole conversation. The term for this kind of thinking is "pipe dreams."

Well some of us really like games we play.

So much so we really care for them.

B2P model means game will die slow death as P2W will come.
There is no way to stop it.

Also quality of expansions / updates will go down because devs will have to spend time on stuff for cash shop.

With time cash shop items become more important then content.

Look at SWTOR and AoC for instance.

I will enjoy ESO for a while longer. All the while knowing game is going to become dead from quality perspective. There will be people playing it for sure. But it will never become what it could have been - one of the best MMOs out there.

EDIT: Chances it will survive 10 years like WOW are next to none

Why would console divisions care what PC players think? PC MMO players already hate Sony anyway so they have no incentive and Microsoft has so much money they dont really care. Thats why Microsoft refused to remove the sub fee.

    A complete non issue.

The only issue is that Bathesda should be pissed that Microsoft didnt drop their sub fee for their game like they did for Final Fantasy.

That maneuver cost Bathesda a lot of money. It cost them a delayed console launch (which isnt a big deal) but it also cost them sub fees for who knows how long on BOTH console platforms as well as PC subs (assuming they carried the sub model further than they are now).

But what Bathesda (ZoS) did was try and preserve their future relationship with Microsoft and held back everything. They could have easily released the PS 4 version and made it sub based. But would that have pissed off Microsoft? Probably. But they were the ones being ***. But I am sure ZoS/Bathesda have more games coming that they want Miscrosft to utilize. But ZoS played it way safe here if you asked me.

Very least they could have released BOTH console version on schedule and also charged a sub and when people pissed and moaned about paying more for the Microsoft version ZoS had plausible deniability and fans would have backed them up citing FF and Microsoft willingness to drop the fee there. Then it wouldnt be so much a ZoS being greedy thing it would be back on Microsoft.

In any event its getting released as B2P console people will still have to pay a fee to play it, so theyre still getting the shaft but one theyre used to getting and willing to take.

It's a game. A game... Like in, you know, -game-. Not important at all. Just fun.

It's a social activity where people invested time and money, label is unimportant.

Go to Vegas, try cheating, when they arrest you be sure to tell them it's just a game.
