Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Why don't developers put PC/Mac and PS4/Xbox players in the same mageserver?

Well if microsoft and zos were "friends" then the xbone players would have been able to play together with the pc players. and that would have forced Sony to do the same thing.

To think of it more, it seems really weird that things are how they are now.

Microsoft refuses to cross platform with Sony. Thus...different megaservers, unfortunately.

They can't make a cross platform megaserver because gaming pc's far out perform the consoles. It wouldn't be fair.

Not exactly true with the PS4 and Xbox one, except in the graphics department
as both have multi core processors and enough ram, more than enough power for this game.

Besides ESO seems to only utilize one cpu core anyway which is a shame.

Sad fact most of our PCs are overkill for ESO.

I actually hoped that ESO being ported on consoles would help improve PC performances.
Consoels have more cores and multi threading is generally more important on those platforms, it would have been great if some aspects could have helped there.
Instead, I'm afraid that the PC version will lag in high stress environment. Not graphically, but CPU wise to handle all the update packets.

Because Microsoft and Sony don't want to integrate their services. Sony doesn't want Microsoft players talking to their players and vice versa. Plus the game is going to be intertwined with Xbox Live and PS+... So you press your Xbox button on your controller and you can look at the guy on live and add him as a friend and what not.

And its not because they dislike each other or anything like that, they just want things exclusive to their service to make money... If you have two friends who are going to play the game on Xbox One and you have a PS4... If you really want to play with them you have to buy an Xbox One... If you can just play with them on your PS4 while they are on Xbox One, you aren't buying anything from Microsoft.

You think Microsoft and Sony are going to share the same network with each other under any conditions? Has there ever been a game in which they did?

    Also for patching and versioning.

If all 3 interacted ZoS would have to ensure all 3 (4? is Mac still going) clients had the same exact updates/fixes/features at the same time. Can't have some people with newer or better features than others, especially in PvP.

Keeping them separated means they can release patches and updates on a per platform basis, which would make fixes more timely also.

Yeah~ It's hard to believe that PS4 and Xbox players will play in the same megaserver.

We can transfer our characters to the console versions if we own pc. I read it and made a post.

It would be amazing if ONLY PvE world you could play Xbox One with PC or PS4 with PC or all together. Whatever console it was PvE all the same world.

I bought the imperial edition for myself and my partner and two friends. We all hammered it to death and then I moved to Germsny for a while so my PC is packed away in the UK... Sadly I cannot play the game.. My partner can but I cannot. So I want to buy on Xbox One, but then I heard it does not have split screen and it does not cross over so I am a little sad.

I want to buy for Xbox One so I can play, but then I am playing alone and I do not want that. So it is a massive reason why it is putting me off.

It would be amazing if we could play. PvE is not asking much really. PvPmi understand!

It`s critical, PS4/Xbox PvP players have unferry advantages towards the PC/Mac users and the PS4/Xbox have her own audiences.

Thanks ZOS for this decision :D:D:D
