Hi there,
with all this tamriel unlimited news, buzz and speculations out there I might have missed a post refering to this, more roleplay-releated, topic.
Currently ESO offers a continuous story to be played, with a TES graphics and Set-Up (in many parts at least). This was accomplished by integrating some "well-known"-TES-things like: One always starts in a prison... or ... NPCs reacting to accoplishments done by the hero... or .... revealing quests by exploring an area.
Now, I was wondering ... with the tamriel unlimited going live, everyone has the choice to buy specific content and ... as a consequence, neglegt other.
What do you think, how will this choice affect roleplay ? How will this affect character progression of the role your hero plays in the story? What do you think about the possibilty for new players to skip content (and thereby story!)?
I feel this will break a consistent story-line that was making this MMORPG different from other MMOs. I like to play a story and while I do have sympathy for those that only like the contest-side of the game, I do think there are many MMOs out there were they may get the satisfaction they seek, while i do not know any other MMO that offers a consistent and rich story to be played.
Please discuss!
