Let's forget all the B2P ramble for a moment and focus on the important stuff.
Does the Soulshine 5 piece bonus actually work? And if yes, when?
The bonus is:
While casting or channeling a spell, your spell power is increased by X.
I tested it on my sorc and the only increase in damage happened on crystal fragments and overload light attacks. no other spell i tested got a damage increase from the set.
So, what are your experiences with this set. Does ist actually work? When does it work? What spells are affected?

MADshadowman✭✭✭✭✭i tested daedric curse, mages wraith, crystal fragments, lightning pool, streak, crushing shock, destructive touch, impulse, entropy, soul trap and overload light attacks.
crystal fragments and overload were the only skills that got a pretty decent increase of power. i heard it's also working on soul strike, but haven't tested it yet. Will do that.
If it only works on spells with cast time, why does it also affect the overload light attacks?0 -
Warraxx✭✭✭✭✭cast time and channeling are different. no idea about overload. there are very few skills that are listed as "channeled".0

✭✭✭✭✭It works like light of cyrodiil set. Only applies while you are casting/channeling spells or to spells that have a cast time.

Joejudas✭✭✭✭✭5 piece soul shine huh. I never really thought the 5 set bonus was worth it. Let us know if it's effective though0

MADshadowman✭✭✭✭✭The problem is that the 5 piece bonus gets affected by diminishing returns, so if you're softcapped on spell power, this will not make a huge difference.
Before i added spell power to the jewelry, the damage increase was about 10%. With softcapped spell power it's only 4% and that is not much.
Next problem is that it only affects so few spells, so this is definitely a problem.
Another problem would be the fact that the set only goes to vr10, so the bonuses on the pieces are not as high as they could be with a vr14 set.
I really wanna use this set, but it just doesn't seem worth it.
Anyone here who has experience with this set and can add some positive feedback?0 -
Cyhawk✭✭✭The 5pc bonus is effected by softcap. It seems to work on every skill that is cast and only for that skill. Meaning if you were to have flames of oblivion going in the background, and casting Lava whip, the flames will not be effected by Soulshine.0
