I understand there is a lot if speculation at this point, but one thing that is really sticking out to me is access to DLC. If DLC is optional, we're going to be out of sync. This also likely means updates will cease to exist.
There were a lot players looking forward to new systems. Spellcrafting, Thieves' Guild, Dark Brotherhood, PvE non-alliance zone, etc. That's a lot of stuff, and that's only a portion. Most games release DLC with new areas. But how are new integrated systems to work in the entire game with DLC being optional.
The ESO Plus subscription doesn't offer too much outside accelerated gameplay (sans crowns). I don't really want to zoom through this game. Offering even more ways to get to a dead end game doesn't feel right.
Unless your crown system offers something mechanical, I don't see subscribing to be worth it. I'd just buy my updates, Which will likely be cheaper than $180 a year.
This might be the most disappointing news to come out since the introduction of how the veteran rank zones would work on Beta.
