So when will the Housing DLC hit?

Watched the twitch and didnt hear anything (at 55 mins now) about housing, But really isnt that a no brainer?

Seems like it is all going to be solo instanced stuff anyway so what is more cash shop and DLC than a housing DLC and a *** of housing 'cosmetics' added.

Has to be a top priority if you ask me. Might be a while before we really see it, but if done 'right' could be a blockbuster.

I know a lot of people arent happy with the changes but it was predictable and inevitable. Seems right in line with what people would expect. At least the DLC part, as long as it isnt outrageously priced. But to counter act the 1500 crowns per months for subscribers I suspect the DLC packs will be pretty expensive (15 bucks plus per, probably 20).

So how does then it starts getting into a murky area. Subs, letting subs lapse, and buying permanent additions to a 'base/vanilla' game.

I am sure the math geeks (myself included) will be there breaking down every conversion rate possible along with how fast DLCs come out and how much they cost and if subbing for 6 months would be cheaper than buying 8 DLCs (thus why I think the price for DLCs will be relatively expensive and not 5 or 10 bucks a pop.

I don't know, but I DO know my 3 phase housing suggestion looks like a REALLY good plan now! Roll the housing out over three phases and charge us for each of the phases... charge Crowns for houses... furniture... individual plates.

Shoot... none of it is "essential" to the core game of "get to the next level" so I guess ALL of it could be considered vanity!

If they want to make money off of ESO it needs to be sooner rather than later. The motivations have changed...

Ironically the only DLC I bought for Skyrim was the housing one, and it was also by far the cheapest one. Not the reason I bought it, but for 5 bucks how could you go wrong? Some might argue it wasnt content but it was, just nothing fancy.

Which makes it the most obvious DLC for ESO also.

While we might not get an open world placeholder to throw down and creatw a portal spot to out instanced house. I suspect we can get something akin to what Runes of magic did where you can buy multiple floor plans in existing towns/cities. Similar to how Skyrim generic housing was. But that would be boring to me.

I would like to see something like Rift Dimensions where its totally free form creation. Trion made a mint of dimensions.

See here's where I'm a little concerned with the subscription & cash shop plan.

If I've got a subscription I don't feel that I should have to go to the cash shop and pay extra to get housing - it should be included in my subscription like DLC is. Otherwise I don't see why I should have a subscription (part of where I'm coming from is that I don't ever want to pay more than my current subscription, and I feel like paid subscribers should rarely, if ever, feel the need to pay anything beyond the subscription fee).

Here's the problem though: when you subscribe you get access to all DLC as long as you stay subscribed. If I'm a subscriber and we get housing as DLC, and then I stop subscribing, do I lose my house? It gets foreclosed?

This is part of the reason why I'd like to see a subscriber loyalty rewards program separate from the monthly amount of Crowns you get to spend in the store. Make it so that for every X months of subscription you get to permanently purchase 1 available DLC of your choice for free. That way subscribers get rewarded for continuing to subscribe, and if we get housing as DLC we get to keep our homes.

Read my 3 phase suggestion posted above... I pretty much cover where homes could be.

Forget housing. If they were to get the numbers of people they hope for they will have a hard time adding in housing.

I think that if you lapsed and then started again, you'd get a proposed house back like you had it, just like you'd get access to other DLC again. I also think it would not be that frequent a situation that Zenimax would have to deal with.
Been there, got the Molag Bal polymorph.
