I am so glad that this elitist, entitled sub culture is going away and normal gamers will be able to enjoy this really amazing mmo.
Why did you not - prepare a couple of business models that would work for you as a company and offer a OPINION POLE? I mean forget the peeps that dont play. What about the peeps that are paying and playing. Dont you really want to know what they think? Why not involve them in the effort. The outcome can ONLY be positive.

It blows my mind that you so-called loyal fans just don't understand that loyalty and your subscriptions were simply not enough in the face of a financial downswing and downsize. Do you guys not think for a moment that if if was viable to keep ESO afloat with subscriptions only, to cover the cost of ongoing development, to keep developers paid and fed, and the servers on they would have not changed business models?
At the end of each day your ass-kissery, your loyalty, your white-knighting and promises to keep paying mean absolutely nothing when faced with financial uncertainty.
What would an opinion pole accomplish? Of course "loyal customers" would want to keep the game as-is; and even discussing it opening would be enough to create terrible press (even worse than when the rumors started flying).
Can you guys not stop and see that it's B2P or Elder Scrolls Online goes Offline indefinitely? Stuff happens, the game wasn't successful enough to merit subscription costs, but this new transition means we can have our cakes and eat it too. If you're so loyal and unsubbing because of whatever dumb reason you have, then calling yourself a once-loyalist is pretty pathetic when you can see past your own fan goggles and sense of entitlement.
Every single one of you would do the same given the position ESO and ZOS is in. Money makes the world go around, not loyalty. Loyalty does not keep bread on the table.

HI,
I love ESO. Others may differ but I find it beautiful. I subscribed day one.
That said, I understand that ESO is special and the whole ESO Team needs to earn money to keep this going. I think everyone is on board with that.
A lot of ESO disasters come from simply making decisions. Some times based on loudest voices. Fact is that it is the quietest voices that support you.
