That being said, even if ZOS had to change the console version business model, they didn't have to change the PC version business model. The two are separate products, as they've said all along.

FFXIV requires a sub whether one plays on PC, PS3 or PS4, though it doesn't require PS+, now whether Microsoft are a sticking point for ESO I'm not sure, especially if it is true that players on all 3 platforms for ESO will share servers - they previously disallowed this for FFXIV which is why it never appeared on Xbox.

So if MS are changing their policies on the server issues they may also change the requirement for Xbox Gold to be required for ESO. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Edit: Gina has just confirmed each platform will have its own servers so, at this stage, looks like ESO will probably need Xbox Gold.
