Please don't.
It's good for the first year or so, but it will only hurt the game in the long run.
The thing is, it's important that most of the revenue is made through players subscribing or buying new content, otherwise they'll have to make more money from selling obnoxious things in the cash shop.
A lifetime subscription deal will be good for the first year or so. But after that, ZOS would start making less and less money from new content since a lot of the players would have access to that for free by then.
What would happen is we would see more unwanted items in the cash shop. It would be inevitable since they have to get income from somewhere.
So NO; please do not offer a limetime subscription.

What makes you think that they will NOT already be selling "obnoxious things" in the "cash shop"?
Why do you think they are including a "cash shop"? To sell us tomatoes and oats?
LMAO
@ZOS, I have seen in the past, when other MMO games went F2P or B2P, that they offered a "lifetime" subscription option. ie. STO had a lifetime sub price of 299 USD.
Will players have this option with ESO?
If not, I submit the idea for a "lifetime" subscription option!

Star Trek's Lifetime sub was originally $240, and a pre-release incentive. It came back about six or eight months after launch at the $300 price point.
Usually these are things that get kicked around and offered while it's still a subscription game, and then survive after the transition into B2P or F2P because the developer/publisher can't really afford to kill them. Even so, Star Trek has done it's best to make my LTS meaningless over the years.

I agree that STO has made the LTS become less meaningful over the years, but the game just turned 5, and I think they have done pretty good up to this point.
As far as ESO goes, I will pay whatever I have to, to get whatever content they hide behind the "pay-walls" period. I am a lifetime Elder Scrolls fan, and the choice to make me pay for future DLC and or other content is not an issue.
I see great things in the future for this game, and aside from all of the players QQ on the forums, I see it all as a good move.

No idea what "failstiny" is.
Like I said, I am a lifetime Elder Scrolls fan, been playing since Arena was released 3 months after the official release date in 1994...

I believe he trying to be funny destiny :P
I still stand behind my statement that this is NOT a bad move for the game, regardless of what people compare me to.
