    Nothing P2W so far.

    That depends on the potions...

Why on earth potions are included is beyond me. Unless it it done right, what an outstanding way to destroy alchemy and associated trading.

The fact that potions and soul gems--items whose c-store availability will directly impact aspects of regular play--are included is not a promising sign.

They did say specifically that the potions will be the basic health, stam, mag. No tri-pots as I understand it and will be comparable to/slightly better than NPC vendor potions but not better than what players can create. So they are really just items of convenience and shouldn't destabilize player economy (fingers crossed)

I barely have use for player created potions as is... I guess I'll just stockpile the dropped potions until then... it's not like they aren't almost a nuisance with their drop rate now.

Those are items that can already be purchased from vendors for gold, though, and they're already not really worth spending gold on, let alone real money...

Now if the potions available are tri-pots or other ones that can currently only be crafted, then that's another story.

They said that the potions are similar to ones that can be purchased from NPC vendors and will be inferior to player crafted potions.
That's fine then (I'm at work and can't watch the twitch).

The only unique thing with the potions is, they'll scale to the user's level. In theory they'll always be weaker than crafted potions, but they'll sometimes be stronger than dropped potions.

...at a guess, it sounds like there's a scale for the dropped potions in game, and these ones can hit levels that don't exist as normal potions, but the scale for crafted potions is flat out higher.

Hmm, interesting. I'm OK with that too, as long as you still get dropped potions at the same rate (so that you don't feel like you need to buy them at the Crown store, even if the ones dropped aren't quite the same level), and as long as they aren't as good as crafted ones.

haha, yeah and they will never change their subscription model either - they'll sooner shut down the game... or how was that quote? Don't be naive... why would they sell potions and soul gems that are inferior? They want to sell the crap in their cash store after all... think about it for 30 seconds and then tell me that it won't end up P2W (like all the other games that took that route).

Their stream was simply terrible... pure marketing drivel... talk about snake oil merchants. Disgusting.

Pretty much. It starts with the whole 'hey look, nothing to P2W, just convenience items and pretty things.' How long do you think it takes being the greedy bean counters upstairs realise that crap does not pull in enough money and that they could get more by selling useful stuff?

It's inevitable. Think about it, in terms of cost, the game probably doesn't even need to go F2P, however, MORE money can be made by doing so, then even MORE money can be made selling items that are P2W.

You can believe what ever you want. The fact is ZOS has lied over and over and over. You think the store bought potions wont be as good or better than crafted? If that was the case, no one would bother buying them and no one will by the crowns to buy them with.

I had hoped that for once a company would have taken the moral road But its not Zenimax.

I just want to know: will there be EXP boosters, gold boosters, drop rate boosters, etc. in the store? Because these "convenience" items are essentially the same thing as buying progression, especially with the "endless" Champion progression.

No. But anyone paying a subscription will get a 10% buff to XP and Gold drops... and, are actually getting that now, along with a 10% buff to Inspiration gains and a 10% reduction to research timers. This stuff went into the game months ago, and is unavoidable at this point.

And how long have you been working on those items? Since launch day, maybe?

Some of the stuff previewed (like the Pony Guar and some of the costumes) were things that are already in game. Some of those are inaccessible (like NPC clothing, or some of the animals that will now be available as pets, but already exist in game), and some of those are already available (some of the costumes are low level armor schemes, available for use at any level.)

Yeah, just like - a long time ago - it was stated that crafted armor would be equal to if not better than any dropped / bought armor in the game.

Here is a hint: it's NOT (any longer, if ever, true)

So let's see how long that "statement" remains valid (if ever)

The same potions available on vendors. Tri-pots will not be in the Crown store: "If you want the best stuff in the game, you have to go to a player crafter" - Matt Firor

Get on the PTS next week (hopefully) and check out the Crown Store. Slinging poo around like monkeys before then is pointless and makes the poo slinger look like a 6 month old with constipation. Wait a week and check it out for yourselves before jumping to any conclusions about anything.

There will be no pay-to-win items in the store

I heard that in lotro. It got twisted into..."some people have time some people have money" therefore we will introduce the same items for purchase for those who don't have time. Then they made all those things into a ridiculous grind for those who don't buy just to hold onto a corner of truth.

When I left you could buy brands that gave you complete CC immunity for a long duration and next to no cooldown. I can't say it will go down the same road, I just know the road is open.
