Not that I'm fussed about the gold sink of buying a new horse, but the time it takes to level one from something that you can run faster than, to a speed that gets you around reasonably swiftly, is a very long time. I'm facing the prospect of re-rolling a class (something many of us may do with the release of 1.6), and he has a max level mount. If I could access or swap this mount to my new character, it'd make the leveling experience much more enjoyable. Also, we're expecting new mount types in the future, it would be nice not to have to purchase them on each character, and level them all up individually.

    It makes no sense for all characters to have access to all mounts, just like it would make no sense to have one shared inventory for all characters.

    The onbly thing that might make sense would be an option to transfer a mount from one character to another. Though generally I have to say, not really worth the trouble...

    We likely won't see flying mounts, ever, as that'd create problems with people getting out of map bounds and all that.
    But... more mounts? Please? I know a lot of people lust after a ride-able tiger, and I could imagine some insect/arachnid mounts (remember Morrowind taxis?), and of course there also could be carriages (what vampire would not like to travel in a dracula-style carriage?) and other options...

    I like that each character has his/her own stable of mounts and see no need to share across accounts.

    But I can also see that some people could benefit from being able to transfer a mount from one character to another on the same account.

    If a transfer was enabled I'd like to see it done as a gold sink - one character transfers mount to another for something equivalent to what the cost would be for buying a new mount. So a brand new character could have a fully leveled horse, but there would be a significant cost.

    Go farming mats on your crafting alt, grab your pack mount. Taking a new character out to pvp, grab your speedy mount. I would have thought it makes a lot of sense. Oh well, each to their own.

    I would support this if...

    You could only use a horse if another character was not using it - I.e. All 8 characters could not be using the same horse.

    For extra laughs - if toon 2 wants a horse being used by toon 1, toon 1 must leave it at a stables and toon 2 must collect it from the same stables. Immersion FTW!

    The horses get magically poofed out of nowhere when they're called anyway, sure why not.

    Going from a fully speed-maxed horse, to a just-bought 42k horse is the absolute worst part about rolling an alt.

    Maybe you can buy a full maxed horse for 100k after you max your first one out? I don't know, I just hate needing to worry about logging in again every day just to make sure I feed another horse. And doing that for at least 2 weeks before it doesn't seem molasses slow.

    What I would really like to see is the price lowered. 42K per horse is ridiculous. Or at least make them bankable so I can transfer them if I decide to delete my character.
