See Body When You Look Down

So I find it very immersion breaking whenever I look down at the ground in 1st person and all I see is the ground many more games these days are including the body of the player in first person. So how come Elder Scrolls has never done this? To me it is very weird and is definitely a must have.

What do you think?

I think that Zenimax should make the physical body of the player character visible in 1st person (Obviously after they fix more important issues).

Do you also want the camera to look directly to the ground when you're stunned or to rotate like crazy when rolling? It would break immersion even more if it didn't while also considering the camera as the "eyes" of your character.

I know at least one complicate problem which generates another problem. When you move camera your "body" doesn't move (doesn't change direction). So, if you want to your boudy and legs, you probably will be able to see your back and start complain about realistic. Or ZOS will need to change all system from the beginning so your body move with camera.

As far as immersion, I agree that it would be nice (after more important things are fixed, as the OP wisely points out). However, it could also possibly be annoying--sometimes you need to find things on the ground, and having feet and legs in the way could block stuff or make it harder to see.

I suppose it could be immersion breaking.. but as far as I know, you've never been able to see your body in 1st person in the TES series. Really I've only seen this in select FPS series like Killzone.
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

It's a pretty complex issue from a development standpoint. It would require lots of animation/rigging work and also have a negative impact on performance. While I agree it's silly, it's also not really a new suggestion or "problem". Trick is don't look down :p

There is actually a mod for Skyrim that does this, and I've tried it. It's pretty cool but I don't think it's necessary, and with all the other player demands they have to sift through I doubt this one will be considered any time soon.

Maybe try suggesting it again in a year if it doesn't happen.

I do love the "immersion breaking" meme, always there to try to make something appear important it seems to me.

Which "many" games do what you ask because no game I've ever played (be it a TES game, a Final Fantasy game, WOW and other generic MMOs) do this?

Ah, no, "immersion breaking" only happens when something you want (or don't want) happens (or doesn't), consistency muddies the waters so please don't look for it here. :D

If I only did solo and never did group content, I might care. I mean I started in first person, but soon as I started grouping I stopped all together.

I often wonder if first person is a contributing factor to (random player)'s inability to get out of the red consistently through a run.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Sure why not. It's one of those "oh cool" details that you notice once and just remember it occurred. I aptly agree with the second statement of my choice as well though.

This game has a ton of first person issues in combat. I do all my play in first, so I can say that the game is poor at conveying stun information. I hope it gets addressed soon.

You do get that there's functionality to this too, right?

Kinda hard to see if you're standing in the red/on the edge of a cliff with no feet to use as a guideline.

I often wonder if first person is a contributing factor to (random player)'s inability to get out of the red consistently through a run.

It certainly is - by and large you just don't see red puddles in first person view. Red corridors only show up if you're looking in the right direction.

And of course you can't see behind you.

First person view is considerably more difficult than third person.

I remember a while ago someone suggested (only partially tongue-in-cheek) that there should be a separate PvP server for those playing in first person ("hard mode") :)

The only reason... ONLY reason I'm playing this is because of the first person view. If they never added it (since it wasn't originally in the game) I wouldn't have ever tried it.

I expect the first person experience to be JUST as robust and supported as the 3rd person experience.
