Alliance War Forum Usernames

I dont know how the rest of you feel but personally i think changing the forum policy to make your account username your forum name with the names of characters on that account attached would definately help improve the quality of the forum.

-Less troll posting.
-better communication abilities for contact in game.
-recruiting made easy.
-generally less confusion overall

Thoughts?

I heard the ZoS forum mods are more strict than ingame GM's. They should do this.

There's an old saying that fish only thrive in water that's a little murky . It's true for a forum community too . If you try to make it where people are afraid to post they won't . What some people call trolling others think of it as elbow ribbing and shop talk jabbing . A ability to remove comments from your own thread that you don't like would be more then enough to please those people .

Tools are there for those that want to publicly let people know how to get ahold of them on their profiles . Just need to use them .

It is too late to make the forum name the same as the account name. That ship has sailed and it ain't coming back.

The could make available character information from the game account on the server so that you could look up the account/character information from the forum.

However, they have such a ... fragile ... link between the game account and the forum account that my guess would be that half the time it would just be incorrect information.

Trolling and QQing... will never stop @Teargrants‌ it will only make it so ppl will know who they are.... and i agree trolls are needed to keep things interesting here and there but at the same time whats the harm in knowing who the trolls are?

I post all my stuff publicly so it wouldn't bother me if the forums showed our character . I just think a option to control your own threads would lead to less people reporting all the time .

Even then it would just show your acct @name, that's not the same as character names, you wouldn't know who is who unless they use the same name for their characters or you have them friended/in guild.

Attaching every character name onto your forum names sounds like functionality requiring additional software that ZOS doesn't have.

Im not so sure they dont have.... they have all the accounts and char info... now whether or not they would want to is a whole other subject.

I just think it would make alot more sense as a forum user to be able to distinguish who is who and put some faces to the names.... not a must but i think it would be nice

They have such an... interesting anti "naming and shaming" policy, I doubt it would be in ZOS interest.

Its such a shame if you ask me its so counteractive in creating a community forum... i just dont get it. How can you create a community of strangers? Its sooo backwards

I'm not sure, some folks may have reasons they don't want to. I personally wouldn't mind either way, but I think its a topic worth discussing and considering
