Championship Points Earning

Apologies if this question has already been answered but when your character earns a Championship point - can you distribute it to any character in your account or only the character that earned the point?

I'm asking this as I'm led to believe that the 70 points being awarded for those at VR14 is being made available to your entire account so I am wondering if that is also applicable to points earned once the system is in effect?

They unlock Account-wide, but are spent character specific.

That's to say if you have say a VR14 DK, a VR5 Sorc, and a level 45 Templar, your account will receive 70CPs.

If you then spend 65 CPs on your DK, leaving you five left. Then your Sorc still has 70 CPs to spend, as does your Templar.

Any new CPs you earn will be added to the account pool, allowing you to spend them on each character.

Also they act as a boost, enhancing skills and gear based on their nominal value (so if you invest CPs that boost provisioning but have no skill in provisioning, then they are wasted).

Thanks for the post much appreciated. If the CP are account wide and I read that "CP" are harder to come by (character specific?) as the character progresses - does that mean it would be easier to create a bunch of level 50 characters and then earn CP to funnel into 1-2 specific characters?

Probably, but they are sending out mixed messages about that, on one hand levelling up a character to level 50 will generate enlightenment that any character can spend, but later levels of CPs will be harder to earn.

Pretty sure they will eventually nerf that too.

Probably not, given that each character gets a CP when you gain one on any character. At least, that's the way I've read it in the past.

Second, in current vet content, there's still XP scaling, so Vet 1 content pays out less XP than Vet 7 or Vet 10 content. No idea if that will remain the same, but it would be reasonable to expect that the post Champion overhaul will keep some of that, so hitting 50 with new characters won't be a secret to fast CP. The XP per CP is fixed, but your XP intake continues to scale up. It would probably be easier to work on high level characters in order to boost your fresh 50s further, however.

I don't think the messages have been that mixed.

You earn CP account-wide, and the amount of XP required to earn them doesn't change. So getting your 100th CP on a fresh level 50 character will require exactly the same amount of effort as getting it on your main.

If anyone here played Diablo III, this isn't a new system. Paragon Points work exactly the same way in terms of gaining points via XP.

Will be interesting to see if they have another respec shrine dedicated towards re-allocating CP.

I'm sure they will have some way to respec CP's.
