https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n0mYnz7M8UIt's about time! Light armor should be crap the title states it all "Light Armor" the people wearing light armor need to stay at the back and range / heal! I just feel sorry for the people that haven't, or will find it difficult to adapt to new play styles and still charge in, in light armor lol.
Oh well free CP I suppose :P

Light armor people should be punished with squishiness. But in exchange, should be able to deal massive damage and to be able to cast for a long time. Which is currently not the case in my opinion.
Too much. And light armor will be crap, if it doesn't get a buff instead of nerfs only
According to Paul Sage as recent as the 2014 Guild Summit, after 1.6 if you want to be "the best" Tank you will have to wear 7/7 heavy Armor. Keep in mind this is coming from the very same mouth that said Trials would be challenging for even seasoned veterans of MMO's before Craglorn's launch. Maybe ZoS has learned their lesson not to underestimate the tenacity of Humans to excel at a thing, maybe they haven't, we will have to wait to see.Lucas.interlichnrb18_ESO wrote: »How much is Heavy Armor getting buffed in 1.6? Light will still be the go to for all specs and classes.

Any real Nord always wears 7 Heavy anyway :P
That's partly because of the level of armour technology at the time. Leather and cloth-based armours were cheap, plentiful, and easy to make (I'm including the garments that were typically worn under mail in this category). Mail was by far the easiest and cheapest to make of the metal armours. True plate armour didn't start appearing for some time after the Dark Ages (which was the time period in which the Vikings were most active).Wicked_Wolf wrote: »Also, if we take the Vikings, which it seems the Nords are slightly based on, I think they generally wore lighter armor with some mail here and there as opposed to plate armors.

Cannot wait! Light armor harry potters will not be able to tank no more!
I believe heavy armor will be buffed too little.
Currently it's got a bit of an identity crisis. While light governs magicka and medium governs stamina, plate is left with the pathetic health regeneration.
Both by means of using magicka (healing, teleportation, buffs) and stamina (dodgerolls, blocking) light and medium armor provide a great deal of survivability.
Just imagine the insane amount of mitigation required to make plate comparable in survivability and health regeneration to someone casting healing spells/shields in light armor.
A fair boost to bring plate to this level will hear an outcry from an angry mob with staves and dresses. And even if this outcry is ignored (rightfully so) there is still a second issue.
Both light armor, and medium armor have an impressive amount of offensive power. Not only by recourse management but also by buffing spellcrit and penetration as light, and weapon damage and critical hits as medium.
To compensate for this difference they need to make plate offensively viable, or able to vastly surpass the other two armors in potential survivability.
Considering the tiny buff plate has gotten so far, despite it's overwhelming disadvantage, I really do not believe they will take the massive leap required to bring plate on par with the other armors.
It's too large a step to handle.
Last but not least, I'd hate for plate to be locked down into a role of stamina/magicka hybrid. Especially with the soft caps being removed.
What I would suggest for plate is giving them percentage based buffs to damage and mitigation. Every piece of heavy armor will give you for example 1% health every three seconds. (in full plate armor it would take about half a minute to recover your full health, nowhere near what light armor and a healing spell can do.) And in addition to this every piece of heavy armor will give you a flat 3% increased damage done. Granting a 21% damage increase.
This combined with a solid mitigation would give plate both solid survivability and a very nice damage increase. And while not keeping up with light and medium armor whom increase damage and resources. (plate will fall behind on resources) it will compensate the lack of resources with some added survivability.
I also believe this fits the style of a heavy armor better, being able to attack less often. And being more survivable.
HA will be getting most of the spell and physical resistance.
idk about resource management.

From a TES history point of view Nord were mostly associated with light/medium than with heavy(except for Oblivion).Orcs were the heavy armor guys. The truth is that if you want to play the manly old school melee archetype you are going to play THE D&D BARBARIAN archetype.Only problem in TESO is that you could never synergies stamina weapons with light. Light should have offered the best resources and mobility for everything with low survivability, medium balance and hevey protection with not much sustain.Wicked_Wolf wrote: »Lucas.interlichnrb18_ESO wrote: »I really hope we start seeing more Heavy Armor users around... 7 heavy could be even a possibility and damn, it looks cool.

I've always gone by that logic as well. But, looking back at Skyrim and all the fur and scaled armors, it seems many Nordic warriors prefer the light for mobility. Also, if we take the Vikings, which it seems the Nords are slightly based on, I think they generally wore lighter armor with some mail here and there as opposed to plate armors.
