DoT's

Just wanted to know if there was anything that effected the damage of a DoT. In my NB's build I made it focus a good bit on Damage over Time and was wondering if things like crippling grasps DoT was effected by spell power. So does spell power effect the damage of a tick in crippling grasp? Or is it static no matter what?

All class skills that do damage scale with magicka and spell power as of now including the DOT.
. This will not be the case in 1.6.

I think you're wrong. all class skills scale with magicka but not all with spell dmg (most of them yes)

in 1.6; every skill that uses magicka to cast will now scale with max magicka, spell power and it will use spell crit. every skill that uses stamina to cast will now scale with max stamina, weapon dmg and it will use weapon crit. (even staff skills will be scaled with spelldgm)

but.. we will have stamina morphs for class skills now (I think they said one in every class tree but I'm not sure of that)

wait wait wait.....are you saying if I apply a DoT effect on someone in pvp, that they can BLOCK the damage from said DoT after it is applied?

Or did you mean they can block it and it is not applied

It's my experience that NB DoTs are rather weak. I still run crippling grasp in PvP for the immobilize/speed perks, but the DoT itself only does ~twice the damage of a nuke and isn't really worth the skill slot for damage alone. Would be nice to see perhaps Agony buffed to be a true high damage DoT... We can wait and see...
