Do Argonians lay eggs? RP help!

I was creating a story for my first role playing character and I was curious as to whether or not Argonians lay eggs. I know they refer to some as hatchlings and eggmates has been mentioned before, but I have yet to see an actual egg or some sort of evidence. Also, the female Argonian has breast, which implies a mammal like anatomy to provide milk to her young. Can I get some help here? ;v;

The "Hatching Pools" in Shadowfen would be the place along with a quest where you can see the eggs. With the huuuge Hist above, it's a really impressive sight! :)

First, it's the Duckbilled Platypus, that's important, a Platypus (without the duckbilled Prefix) is another type of animal, it's a type of beetle (QI episode).

Second, the Duckbilled Platypus comes from a long and until recently very successful line. The bill is used to detect fish and insects, there used to be dozens of variations, which declined a few thousand years before man reached Australia (one decline we aren't responsible for).

Third, never make fun of a venomous creature (as opposed to poisonous which actually means toxic to eat, there are only two poisonous snakes BTW), which the Duckbilled Platypus is (poison glands behind spurs in their paws).

Back to the main topic, Argonian is meant to be a "mysterious" creature of Tamriel with little official known information due to the hostility of their homeland and the lack of Imperial research material. Human have a really hard time exploring Black Marsh and Argonians are very secretive.

What is known though is that they hatch from eggs and it is assume they are given their overall shape (and perhaps sexuality) by the Hist tree, through a ritual which the hatching lick Hist sap.

I like this website for lore information: www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Argonian

When it comes for the anatomy of female Argonians, their developed breasts have no logic (I believe even the lore of the game states as such). Argonian are cold-blooded, reptilian, amphibious humanoids creatures, which is most likely a creation of a magical being (the Hist). The rest is up to your imagination.

That would be information backed from lore. The real reason, from my understanding is that Bethesda never bother to make more than 2 character models (one for male, one for female) for the bodies of every playable races in their Elder Scrolls games (I only checked Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim though). They mostly only change skin texture, head model and attach a tail if applied. This saves them quite a bit of developing time, but makes every race look the same body-wise and results in female Argonian with breasts.

On the OP. I can't help but wonder if the reason they are co-dependant on the Hist trees in the hatching pool is because they might spawn like fish and the Hist Tree secretions act as a catalyst hormone.

There's an obvious reason why a cold blooded, non-mammalian, non-breast-feeding species has breasts: Even the hist likes jumblies.

Okay, what happens if one of the humanoid species falls in love with an Argonian? Or a Khajit falls in love with an Argonian?

Do we have eggs or live birth?

Humans with tails? Or lizards with pink skin and red Dunmer eyes?

Scaled Khajit or lizards with manes ane whiskers?

[For all of you elitists who want to "explain" lore and can't help yourselves explaining how none of this is possible, this is called HUMOR...]

As far as we know, men/mer can interbreed with each other, but neither can interbreed with khajiit or argonians, and argonians and khajiit cannot interbreed with each other either. Mating is possible, but reproduction is not.

And yes, I ignored your humor.

While the website does say this, there is ingame evidence to the contrary.

An Argonian born away from the Hist was reconnecting with his people, he was born perfectly normally, just had no connection to the Hist (he was actually forging the link, which was then abused).

Further to this, in Oblivion we learnt that the Hist act as Soul reserviours to the Argonians, any Argonian born within their influence is born with one of the souls stored in the Hist. This means that any Argonian born away from said influence has a new soul, which some view as a non-Argonian soul.

This means the symbiosis between the Hist and Argonian is one where the souls are constantly flowing in and out of both the Hist and the Argonian people (but not the individual Argonians).

even in daggerfall and arena they have boobs, and the were just a drawing then not a 3d model, it has been known in games like morrowind they do lactate for there young, the hist is only there to shape them, from the 23 variants they are decided by the hist but raised by there parent afterwards

Beast races in most games have similar issues with too much human anatomy to the beast features. Look at most cat/wolf/long muzzled mammal hybrid races with long necks and narrow shoulders. Give the way the jaw opens on normal animals, tilting it down 90 degrees and elongation the neck is breaking several anatomy rules that would lead to eating and breathing disorders. About the closest to being a believable beast race to me in recent years has been the Charr in GW2, given the way the neck curves and shoulders sort of curve in.

All that said, just suspend your disbelief for a bit, or imagine that most of this started when sheogorath wanted a village of lizard lovers and cat owners to get closer to their pets.Daedric Prince magic explains everything, and leads to a lot of weird prehistory fanfic.
