Look at those daggers! Plus many other floating weapons that really annoy me and i think, many others too...

You really want a almost year old game to look at least somewhat polished and this looks cheap and shabby.

It's a small thing, but... a little annoying, true. If you don't use the "standard" shape, this happens a lot...

Of course, it is also a little vexing that the weapons stick to your character, and not have a sheath... but I guess sometimes there are choices to be made. And if the choice is between weapon sheaths and less lag, I think most will vote for less lag...

Weapons disappear when mounting, horses don't know how to swim..... you mount an invisible horse, your helmet can vanish and come back. Oh so many issues!

Nah I'm messing with you. Floating daggers is annoying but I would much rather them focus on new content and improvements to better optimize the game. Weapons vanishing when mounted is my biggest issue but luckily, I complained about it and a fellow forum member made a mod to fix that

Its because of animations. They cannot possibly have a separate animation for every character shape you can create with the character generator, so they sometimes have to cut corners and make compromises. The floating daggers are one of such compromises.

This issue being connected to character shape is delusion and incorrect assumption.

Weapons float only with certain armors, floating issue is only connected to them, not character shapes. Floating weapons actually stay allways the same distance away from character, no matter the shape. They move when you move shape sliders.

I have tested this with many characters. ZOS is far from amateurs that can not make things like this to adjust with character shaping. Only thing that prevents this is the priority of things to do and i am sorry but graphical issues are the first that new players will see when they enter in game with their newly made characters. Floating weapons that are totally off from their supposed placements give bad first impression that stay in your subconsciousness to make judgements of other things too and also make you more critic to other small issues there are. Polished look is very important to game that wants to thjrive and keep new players in, content for new players is actually maytter onöly when they have played all the existing content away.

Sheats are other thing and sheats are less important when weapons are attached to character properly. Sheats would be nice but not needed, correcting this is needed. If they have will and time to adjust facial impressions of NPC's, i think they sgould also have time to fix this.

If you are willing to test how weapons react to changes in character creation, start making a new character, select veteran armor(They have weapons in prewiev). change a race and armor and with each, slide all the various sliders to notice how they react. Some races have this issue worse and others do not have this issue at all.. I am not sure if it is connected to race or armor or armor type nut they really change..

Yep. No bother at all. Hadn't even noticed an issue until you posted the image.

There are about 1,000,000,000,000 things that are more important than this.

Everything is important. Thinbgs that are important to me and things that are important to you and things that are important to others.

This issue isn't new. I remember the same issue in Skyrim and it has to do with the size of the characters body mesh.

In Skyrim, the problem was with character skeleton. We do not really know how ESO handles these things (Naturally somewhat similarly) but in Skyrim, there was better skeletons and worse skeletons available. Other modders took the time to adjust default placements accordingly and others did not.

I had that same issue with my character with Better Barbie bones or something like that, mod.. When i changed to other skeleton, the problem went away and never did come back unless i changed back to that one mod. Some other mods also messed placements but it was always with the Skeleton. In Skyrim with skeleton that had no issues, the weapons always stayed on the right distance from body, no matter how i changed the shape of the body.

What ever the cause, it is shoddy work and can be fixed, the older the issue, the more it needs fixing.

Have to agree here. Not seeing the urgency.

I am not asking for immediate fix but only some sort of acknowledgement that this will be fixed in near future which being 0.5 to 1 year.

It might seem minor thing but everything needs to be fixed in some point and no matter the "more important" stuff, these small detail issues can not be put under the rug for indefinitely. There might be million other things that bother you but as far as i am concerned, playing works fine, stealth has some issues but thats it for me. These small details stick out to me every day i play and thus, they are more important to me than balancing for example.

I think you may be confused about the definition of "need" here. This does not need to be fixed. It's barely a problem to begin with.

There is such a long list of minor bugs and annoyances that we have had to suffer with since beta that I seriously doubt this will ever be fixed (assuming it is even a bug). Makes me wonder what my $15\month pays for but I digress...

I'll loan you my awesome, invisible resto staff to ease your frustrations. I don't know if will be placed in your hands correctly or not, because its...you know, invisible.

Seriously, every time I play my Templar my destro staff morphs to the style of my resto staff and my resto staff becomes invisible. I've never reported it because the skills all work like normal, and watching him go through the animations with empty hands is pretty funny. Much funnier than daggers on your wrists.
