Would it be too much too early to ask for a new class?

Has it been thrown out there any talk of implementing new classes for even more versatility down the long roads ahead? Just curious...

Never too early to bring it up. What are your ideas? Here are the classes that have been included in all ESO games (notice 2 of the ESO classes are ONLY in ESO, so we're not limited to these)

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Classes

I personally would like the Thief class to be released with the Justice system!

The Spellsword, Barbarian and Battlemage classes look most widely used in past TES games. Those might be a good start when looking at adding a new class.

Too early ? Too outragous maybe :) I hope, they will never add a new class. The should keep it the way it is, or remove classes from the game. I'm sure, they'll stuck with the 1st option. Please ZoS, don't add another class, rather balance the available ones.

This is normal, nobody has infinite ideas. But they only have to read in the forum, to get (mostly ridiculous) new ideas from the players.

They already are, it's called Spellcrafting and it will hopefully be in game this year. That system will likely make "Classes" irrelevant and so it should, we don't need more Classes in a TES game, we need less.

The decoupling of weapons and class skills ESO does makes a few classes kinda included. Where in Morrowind your class determined all your major skills, in ESO its only the class skills, not armor or weapon choices. So what were different classes back then can be the same class now just one as stamina build with heavy armor and two-hander while the other is a magica build with resto-staff.

So, if you think about "new classes", think about the class skills. What's missing?

And then wonder... does it seem like enough to mandate a new class? All three skills? Or could it maybe be covered by a single new skill line or some new skills rumoured to be possible to add with the upcoming spellcrafting?

Let's see... some thoughts on this...

    - Archer (nightblade stamina build bow)
    - Assassin (nightblade stamina build melee yearning for Dark Brotherhood)
    - Barbarian (medium armor and heavy in fighters guild skills)
    - Bard (can be done with an added music skill line)
    - Battlemage/Spellsword (sorceror with some degree of stamina build?)
    - Crusader/Paladin (stamina build heavy armor templar)
    - Cryomancer (Ice staff sorceror, maybe a few extra skills?)
    - Druid/Ranger - that one might be viable for a full new class. Three skill lines, animal (some pet summoning, some swarm summoning DoT), plant (some heal, some harm) and perhaps even shapeshifting...
    - Healer (templar magica build)
    - Illusionist (magica build nightblade, maybe a few extra skills?)
    - Knight (heavy armor and lots of fighters guild skills)
    - Mage (Sorceror with heavy mages guild focus)
    - Necromancer (can be done with an optional skill line for sorceror)
    - Pyromancer (dragonknight magica build)
    - Rouge/Thief (nightblade wating eagerly for justice system and Thieves Guild...)
    ...or something like that.

A hunter class geared towards archery and with the ability to summon/control animals is something that could be added.

I like a new class as well, just remember with a new class, a whole new set of problems comes with balance issues

healing, dps, survivability, synergy and so on.

and people will start to moan about that for the next year :)
  • kifyiib14a_ESO
New classes could be interesting. I hope they'd keep with the TES history of premade classes.

More than a new class I'd like to see the pet taming thing they had mentioned early on in beta, where you could invest a perk and then have a combat pet. I know Sorc's get a summon but I'd rather have an animal companion than a slave daedra.

There could be one scheduled for the end of this year or next, but we never know.

There are three classes I'd love to see and they are:
-Elemental mage (one that uses frost, water, and maybe poison or something, cant do shock or fire because DK and sorcs)
-A high mobility support class (Currently templar is most supportive, but when they get attacked they have to turn into a wall and can't continue playing supportive, I'd like to see a class that can support groups from the back. Maybe a bard?)
-High mobility warrior (would be somewhat like a Nightblade but without invis and all that stuff, more like a foot soldier.)

I do not think that it is a priority, but if another class would be introduced... Well, we have most fantasy classes covered as well as most elements but we seem to lack a frost/nature magic oriented one which I would like to see.
Something along the lines of a druid, windarcher or hunter. There was a thread about this the other day that theorized Wardens could be introduced as a healer/shapeshifter class which actually sounds awesome.

Remove classes entirely, make all the class skills under the new spellshchools that are coming with spellcrafting, most of nightblade skills would belong under illusion, templar under restoration and dk/sorc under destruction/summoning.

It would have a skill that makes it go invisible, and stay invisible, for a short period of time. Unlike Nightblade.

The classes in the game may just need to be purged when spell crafting comes out so that we can build our own class. The reason the current classes have been made is because they embody the ideal of ESO's hybrid-gameplay philosophy.

    Just for fun:
What I think they had in mind for the following class breakdown incorporating past TES playable premade classes:

Barbarian - Stamina Dragonknight (2hand/shield/medium armor)
Warrior - Stamina Dragonknight (shield/heavy armor)
Knight - Stamina Dragonknight (2hand/bow/heavy armor)
Monk - Stamina Sorcerer (dualwield/bow/medium armor)
Acrobat - Stamina Nightblade (bow/shield/medium armor)
Archer - Stamina Nightblade (bow/dualwield/medium armor)
Burglar - Stamina Nightblade (dualwield/shield/medium armor)
Pilgrim - Stamina Nightblade (shield/shadow/light armor)
Ranger - Stamina Nightblade (bow/shadow/medium armor)
Rogue - Stamina Nightblade (dualwield/shield/shadow/assassination/medium armor)
Scout - Stamina Nightblade (shield/medium armor)
    Crusader - Stamina Templar (2hand/destruction staff/heavy armor)

Dragonknight - Magicka Dragonknight (shield/2hand/heavy armor)
Battlemage - Magicka Sorcerer (2hand/dualwield/summoning and dark magic/heavy armor)
Mage - Magicka Sorcerer (destruction staff/restoration staff/light armor)
Sorcerer - Magicka Sorcerer (destruction staff/heavy armor)
    Witchhunter - Magicka Sorcerer (shield/bow/dark magic/summoning/light armor)
    Spellsword - Magicka Sorcerer (shield/destruction staff/heavy armor)
Agent - Magicka Nightblade (bow/shadow/light armor)
Assassin - Magicka Nightblade (bow/dualwield/assassination/medium armor)
Bard - Magicka Nightblade (shield/dualwield/medium armor)
    Nightblade - Magicka Nightblade (duawield/destruction staff/siphon/medium armor)
Thief - Magicka Nightblade (bow/shadow/medium armor)
Healer - Magicka Templar (restoration staff/destruction staff/light armor)
    Templar - Magicka Templar (2hand/restoration staff/heavy armor)

Note that not all magicka builds use light armor and not all stamina builds use medium.

I'm sure some of these are wrong... seems to me to be a lack of magicka Dragonknights and stamina templars. There's a profusion of Nightblades as there are a lot of rogue builds present and very little synergy between classes other than nightblades for rogue type playstyle. Who knows what Thieves' guild and Dark Brotherhood will allow though, right?

How about instead of adding new classes they remove the class system and let you pick from any of the class lines.... They you can call yourself a flamemagedragoncleric for all I care.
