In the long run any achievements that we get should unlock something. Sadly this isn't the case in any MMO that I played. Most give points, but nothing can be done with said currency.

I know that Blizz once considered a shop for pets, mounts and stuff that players could buy with that currency. That however was later considered less good and the real money item shop came.

Since we don't have housing or any other RP stuff besides dyes, what could they give us?

Allods online give Titles for achievements which give you some buff for stats.
Gw2 Gives you for achievement points cosmetic things+increased amount for gold/karma/and drop chances

Most Achievements need to be revised so they're account based.

On one character I have three crafts certified, on another I have another 3 certified but yet I do not have the dye for having all my crafts certified

It would also be nice to know which achievements I have unlocked on other characters by having that Dye highlighted in white no matter what character I'm on.

You can just go to the other certifier and get them certified, it takes seconds, I know because I did that when the writs first launched.

So long as you get the first three crafts certified, you can then go to the other certifier and get the other three. You do have a list of what your character has achieved, and it shows you which achievements give dyes, so if you write down which dyes from that sheet, and then you can compare.

I know actually writing things down, with a pen and paper, I'm so last century

Oh, well thank you! + insightful

Apparently you never soloed the game, including world bosses on level, dolmens on level, public dungeons on level, etc.
That is an "insane achievement", as you call it.
But the "goodies" are for groups only, although it's so much easier.

No offense, but you PvP elite guys should try not to bang your heads on the keep door frames too often up there on your high horses.

That said, I do get your point, but there should also be something in it for all the solo players.

These thing you call "world bosses" I call trash mob and I can solo it unarmed and naked, its not hard to achive and everyone have it. I allready killed every singel worldboss/dolmen/public dungeon and even killed all the secret bosses in these public dungeons by camping for hours until they spawn(these have 1-12hours spawn rate or something). I'm not a "elite pvper" Im just an average mmo player wich like to get rewarded for my actions and been ranked 1 in trials/pvp lots of times and never got reward for it.. there is not even a acivment for geting rank 1 on time leaderbords, wich make no sense.

Solo players allready got lots of reward by doing solo stuff, like explore this and this and you get this title/color, or kill that and that guy and you get this. We need more reward for higer challenging task like beating serpent in 33min wich nobody have ever done in the world yet, even when it have been out for 3months. Why would 12 players waste hours and hours of gameplay on achiving a good time when the only thing you get is a color that looks like the same as any other.. We need to stand out by geting rare rewards that not everyone can get.

To many players think this game should be a solo game..

I finish the achievements just to complete them but I agree it would be nice to get a little something extra for reaching X or Y number of achievement points. As suggested even little things would be nice, like getting a costume or a pet (once they're on a tab not taking up inventory space) or being able to unlock a dye color of choice once you reach a certain number of points. Things like that wouldn't negatively affect gameplay balance for people who don't care to chase achievements. But it would be a nice gesture for those of us who look at those points from time to time and wonder what the purpose of tracking them is.

I'd like to see the achieves for things like chests, harvesting, refining, etc… continue. Pick some crazy high number so we can at least see how many we have done at any given time.

I allready think harvesting got a crazy hige number with 10k stuff to collect when I barely pick stuff, but thats just me.

I think achievements should be account wide, of course, this is optional. This way, you choose which characters you want their achievement to be account-wide and their totals to be merged (if I have 100 quests done in my main and 20 in my alt, then the total sum should be 120 when the merging is complete. Since then, all quests completed on either character should count towards such achievement). I put a post about this with some more information on how to implement it, but some other players think they own the game (not ZOS) and decide what kind of content should everyone play based on their preferences.

Yes. Also the "open 1000 chests" achievement.

Other than that, I like the achievements the way they are.

Curious to see how close I am to 100k.

Yeah, easily over 5,000 chests… just curious. Bless Bal Foyen's little heart.

I'm right there with you on the writing things down. I have my little 3 pages of charts of who knows what trait in crafting with the initials of the PC names .... yes I have "primary" crafters for all the different crafts, but they all deconstruct so it's nice to keep track.

If there was an acheivment for the Player for being a geek/spaz, I'm sure I would have gotten it.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I don't keep paper/notebooks around any more, so if I wanted to write things down I'd be screwed :P What I did at the beginning was make an Excel worksheet with the crafting traits. Then I gave up and started using add-ons...

But your comment reminds me of the early 90s when I discovered the Ultima games. I had notebooks full of Ultima V and VI clues and maps. You basically couldn't finish the games without it, especially Ultima V, because you had to find certain NPCs and ask them about specific subjects, or find a place and say specific words of power. And it was all typed, no pre-made lists to select from!

I just ended up reducing it to one chart, with the initials for each of my main crafters (three of them). I only need to keep track of Blacksmithing, woddcrafting and clothing and find that an initial in the box for the right trait does it.

Pretty quick and easy, and once a month or so, I print out a new tidier copy (with initials printed, and blocks marked off for the traits all have learned).

Yes. Bal Foyen has a great "chests and mats" loop. Khenarthi's Roost as well.

The good thing about alts is that I can try to get the 1000 chests achievements on my alts as well.
