The Focused Aim + Mark Target + Covenant Bow set = BEtter Damage and range.

Of course it's higher damage, it's meant to be. Lethal Arrow is picked primarily for the utility of another (stackable with disease proc) heal debuff.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing that lethal arrow is superior, just that you're trying to argue the opposite without examining every side of the situation.

If you're going for pure damage and to stand at max range and pew pew with snipe, sure focused aim is almost certainly the better choice. This also would apply to PvE.

On the other hand for a prolonged 1v1 PvP fight where it will get up close and personal, with no possible kill in a stealth opener the guaranteed (if landed properly), possibly additional, the heal debuff gains a bit of value even in light of the extra damage provided by focused aim.

After all, I personally use lethal arrow in a build that has three different sources of heal debuff, in three different resource mediums (weapon enchant, ultimate cost, stamina cost), and I think it works quite well contrary to using focused aim.

But that's just because it fits my playstyle. Point is the different morphs work better for different people with subsequently different playstyles.

Agreed unless you count in Morag Tong and Master Bow.

I didn't want to bring it up since it's so specific, but yes this is another reason I use lethal arrow instead of focused aim, since I use the Morag Tong set with a mostly poison damage build. You get it from the random blue bags of equipment you can buy with AP at your respective Cyrodiil gates.

And back to your original reply to me, @morvegil, I'll have to disagree, I think you're giving too little credit to the healing debuff. Just because purge is a thing doesn't
mean everyone you'll 1v1, or even a majority, will have it.

From my dueling experience, my healing debuffs rarely get purged. I actually rarely see purge being used 1v1 in general. Even if they do purge, the debuff was 10 seconds long anyway, it's not like you won't be reapplying. So I don't really see that as a valid sole basis for thinking it's inferior.

But as I said, different morphs work for different builds and playstyles. Since I use Morag Tong, and have a build that specifically uses as many heal debuffs as possible, I have to argue that lethal arrow is the superior choice for my playstyle, as mentioned above 'different morphs work for different builds and playstyles'.

Focused aim may be the best choice for you, but don't market it as the end all be all best choice between the two because it's not. It's situational, which morph you would pick that is.

Oh, and mind you, I've also been a bow user since beta. Didn't think that was necessary to bring up, but if we're flaunting it around why not

Just a side note, its not mentioned in the tool tip, but Lethal Arrow ignores armor, Focused Aim doesn't.

I convinced a friend to switch morphs and they went from 1.8-1.9k damage to 2.1-2.2k damage with Lethal Arrow.

Focused Aim is better for range, and appears better on paper, but Lethal Arrow edges it out slightly overall due to its penetration value.

Unless they have patched it, last time I checked, Lethal Arrow ignores armor and Focused Aim didn't last time I checked.
