My two characters that quested, did it in just under 4 days each, I did not skip any quest scenes. My one that AOE grinded, did it in about 50 hours. Absolutely no idea how anyone could possibly do it in 15 hours. How is that done? I'd actually level a Sorc and DK if I thought I could do it in 15 hours.

4 days 2 hour 28 mins. I spent maybe 5 hours in Cyrodiil, and maybe another 2-3 afk.

Here's my take. For a semi-casual player who buys ESO to pvp, a person who plays a couple hours a night 100+ hours, 50 days plus is far too long. Many will and I sure have quit.

The problem is there is no low level pvp to break up the quest/grind grind for the person who is new to the game looking for pvp. Cyrodiil is no fun for a sub vet player with 1900 hp.

Solution, What would have made things much more enjoyable for me and I'm sure for the new person coming in looking for pvp is to raise the hard caps on health, magicka, and stamina. I suggest 2500 hp, 1800 magicka and staminia. At these points the new player will atleast be able to compete. Yes, it will still be challenging, but atleast they will have a fighters chance and still something to work for.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler‌, I implore you to consider my suggestion I feel that it will with retention with regards to vet players who want to level an alt, and new players who bought ESO to pvp.

150 hours, based on the average of 1 level per 3 hours. I worked it out by observing that I was levelling my character up by one every night and playing about 3 hours per night. I have 8 characters on the NA server of which 3 are L10, 1 is L17, 2 are L20+, 1 is L47 and one is VR1. I'm not counting the eight on the EU server because I only play them on weekends when the connection traffic over there is low. However it could be +/- 10 hours because I recal getting to L5 took me 6 hours on all of them.

you can do the repeatable quest hubs, Cheynlida, Bruma, Cropsford etc , each quest hub offers 10 quest , most of the hubs can be completed solo in 45 min , although Chorrol quest hub is kinda a waste , quest objective are to spread out , so best to skip that one .

I forget what they award at lvl 20 but at lvl 40 each quest awards 4997 exp and 306 gold, so basicly each quest hub gives 50k exp and 3k gold not counting what you get from killing /looting .

A lot better doing those than the hand holding quest grind which is the same for every alt you create on the same faction, but even if you change factions, the main story and fighters/mage guild quests are the same ,

Pretty lazy really, they should have had one of their design team play Star wars the old republic and see how their main story is . how each class has a completly different main story, and the choices you make in the story quest effect the outcome of the story.

and even tho it is solo you can invite friends or others of your class to help unlike here where 80 % of the game is a solo based game experenice .

As mentioned several times, get a partner for xp.
My suggestions are use the ring of Mara for the extra 10% [ note: I've been lucky to have mine reacquired by ZOS help] do every dungeon. Make exploring a priority and have explore xp armor on. Open every chest you find. Kill, harvest every thing alive, don't go skulking around mobs, kill them and the mudcrabs too. If you play a couple hours a day, a couple weeks should see you through
    50.
Remember that first 3 to 11 levels go very very fast, so armor at 6 and 10 is good enuf. Level 12 to 20 slogs slowly then 22 to 30 speeds up. You can easily run thru 5 levels from 43 to 48 doing Army of Meridia in a few hours. Yes like 2!

Do each area early and skip some. I did cold harbor at 30, skipped the level 20 area except for dungeons.

Go to the under 50 ( pretty empty) campaign in Cyrodiil and with a buddy get those sky shards, do the dungeons. Set your Gameplay settings to automatically adjust you for difficulty in Cyrodiil ( whilst out of Cyrodiil). You'll be fine.

NOTE to all....get those alts to level 50 before ver 6 hits and xp is even slower.

Ok so lets look a like closer then. Again playing solo posters claims 17 hours.

    50 lvls/17 hrs = 2.94 or ~3lvls/hr

60 min in an hour therefore:

    60min/3lvlsperhr = 20 min/lvl

Your telling me you make a level every 20 min? lets see the vids.

I have 2 VR2 alts and my main is a VR4 templar healer. I'm lvling a sorcerer now, she's lvl 20 in 30 hrs gametime. I'm doing all the quests on every char and I play since early release. for my first char I needed 8 days of game time to got to cadwell's silver. and my other char. took me 6~7 day's to get there. I want to lvl my sorc. to VR1 before champion system and then I'm going to shose one of my 4 char to lvl further. I have a DK tank, a NB dps (stamina), a templar healer and now a sorcerer dps (magica). I also have (low lvl, for later  ) a DK firemage(magica), a templar ranger(stamina) and a NB dps (magica)

Let's see. Are you sure that you really enjoy doing the first zone quest the 12th time in a 'rpg' with no branching dialogues or branching quest lines. I have done most EP quests 3 time already and a lot of them 5 times. The first time I used a no text add-on and a fog of war add-on. The second I just payed attention. With each run trough the main story I dislike the crappy writing and whatever annoying BS Lyris spews even more. I am sorry but I had enough and now I just want to see how well a Redguard stamina NB works in endgame content compared to a Dunmer magicka NB because that is the kind of crap I like to do in games like this.

Game design is pretty bad really, told them that playing on the PTS pre launch.

Game really has no replay value , Almost every MMO on the market at release has several zones you can go to in order to level up your character .
    example.
From lvl 5-15 you can choose to go to one or more of 4 different zones in order too quest and grind mobs to level up your character.

In ESO you only have 1 zone to go to in order to level up your character, if i play EP faction for the level range of say 5-17 i have no other choice but to go to Stonefalls, if i make a new alt on EP faction, the only zone I can go to for the levels 5-17 is Stonefalls, and grind through the same quests I have already went through on other characters, there is no other option other than rerolling to a new faction .

If you do reroll to a new faction , you still have the exact same main story to grind through as well as the same fighters and mage guild quests , the zones are different but thats it .

And when you finish the main story, you can continue by going to the other factions level 1-50 zones and go through their entire story, quests like they do just the mobs are higher, since you are max level by then ./yawn

Honestly I think they had planned on just making a online single player elder scrolls game with tacked on co-op elements, and not really an MMO at launch and still for the most part now you only really have 2 ways to level , grind their quest driven hand held content , or grind mobs . Most really good mmos offer more than 1 way to level your character effectively.

Wether it be running dungeons in groups, earning exp crafting on the side to help level, scenarios mini pvp games that you can play while doing quest related to objectives in the secanario etc for bonus exp, so you can actually make progress leveling your character when you need a breakj from the quest grind .

At launch they nerfed all exp in Cryodill, changed the quests, to be daily only and non repeatable except once a day etc . you could spend hours in there doing the quests etc and not get any real exp to help you level.basicly forcing people to grind their quest driven content to lvl ,

Its better now a few months after launch when they saw not everyone wants to grind quests to lvl they added more exp to quests and killing players in cryodill, made the queasts repeatable more often etc . It is better now but it still needs work,

If i tried i could most likely lvl 1-50 in a week. but i`d have to make sure i did all the skill point quests in each zone as without enough skill points you are kinda gimping yourself =.

VR1 to VR2 is about 20mins, that is why I added it. If you save all your Mage, Warrior and main quest lines until level 44 they now level with your giving you at level items and higher quest experience (thank you scaling).

You will be VR1 before you start coldharbor, then you do your 6 crafting noob quests and unduanted quest at VR1 and you finish 1 starter quest you will be VR2
