So I downloaded the PTS in anticipation of testing update 6. I decided to log in to see if I had all my characters from the NA server copied over. That is a big fat NOPE it said something about a copy made from the UE servers which I have nothing on. I saw no choice for a template like I have heard mentioned just the standard class choices. The new guy is level 1 in the Cold Harbor prison. Is there 2 versions of the PTS? How do I access the characters I have leveled there?

✭✭✭If I remember right NA had theirs copied over from back in October I think. I can't remember but its been a while. And I think they copy them over when its closer to test out. I know with 1.5 my character from NA was on there but its not now.2 -
Ommamar✭✭✭✭I could swore I saw something around the 15th of December about NA being copied over. As for close to test I am hoping that is coming like next week once everyone is back from the holidays.0

Couple of notes:
1) ZOS rotates copying characters between NA and EU servers. The current rotation has characters from the EU server copied to PTS. I *believe* the intention is for those EU characters to remain for the initial launch of 1.6 on PTS and then later reset the PTS at which time all characters (including EU characters) will be wiped on the PTS and then copy characters from the NA server .
2) Templates
a) When you log onto PTS go to the character select screen.
b) In the upper left hand corner of the screen you should see a small window with a dropdown option. (The default is "None" which means standard new character creation)
c) Click on the arrow to open up the window to display the other options
d) You should see a half dozen options including ones for VR12 and VR14

Ommamar✭✭✭✭Oh wow I didn't know that thanks for the update. So when they copy the NA server for next update test do I have to enter the sent code again? Also is it every test period they do that or a set schedule like monthly, bimonthly, weekly?
I did see that but wasn't sure what it was about I will look at it further. Basically it sounds like I go with a template or a brand new character to play on test.0 -

PTS is really no different than Live. They will do an update, you start the game up, download the new patch, then go character select screen.
There is no set schedule (at least that I am aware of) for PTS other than perhaps someone throwing darts at a calendar.
An update may or may not include a character reset.
Even when using one of the templates options you will still need to create and name a new character. The difference is that upon character completion, any character that was created using a template will begin at a higher level with unassigned skill and attribute points, gold and a huge selection of gear, accessories and provisions. You will also be able to max out skill just by putting a point into them.If they ever create a Legendary recipe it better contain bacon as one of the ingredients. I'm just sayin'.0 -

✭1. Click "Create a New Character"
2. Look in the upper left corner of the screen. Click the dropdown box and select "Vet City of Ash."
3. Finish creating your character.
4. Enjoy VR14 and full Trials gear.0
