Is it 30 CP per VR alt or per user?

Is the consensus that it will be 30 CP per VR alt or that each user will get 30CP?
I have an alt at lvl 49 and need to know whether to get her over the hump to VR1.

    Neither.

Its 30 CP per account with a VR character, unless that changes between now and when it goes live.

Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.

You better get her to VR1 before they add 1.6 to live as only those chars (VR1 and above) get the 30 free CP's and only if you log the VR char in that day. ;)

After that you then have a starting pool of 30 CP which means each char you have or make will then have 30CP to use. It's not spread out between chars, the only thing that's spread out is that all chars (VR1 and above) will be able to earn CP points to add to the shared pool.

You only need one VR character and all your characters (yes, even L1-49) will get 30 CPs to spend individually. For Example:

    Main: V1 - 30CPs
    Alt 1: L49 - 30CPs
    Alt 2: L23 - 30CPs
    Alt 3: L1 - 30CPs

Now lets say you spend 20 CPs on your main, 10 CPs on Alt 1, 5 CPs on Alt 2, and 3 CPs on Alt 3 your remaining balance would be:

    Main: V1 - 10CPs
    Alt 1: L49 - 20CPs
    Alt 2: L23 - 25CPs
    Alt 3: L1 - 27CPs

CPs are earned on an account basis but spent on a character basis.

As long as you have at least one veteran rank character, all of your characters will receive 30 Champion Points. Even if you spend all 30 of the points that your veteran character has, all of your other characters will still have 30 available to them.

As of when I'm posting this, only @Cuyler and @dharbert have it right. Assuming things don't change, that is. There's also one other important point: The awarding of 30 CP only happens once, so if you ever want to actually play and progress several alts, make sure those alts are in your account before 1.6 launches.

For example, if you eventually want to play at least one character of each class, make sure the Templar, Dragonknight, Nightblade and Sorcerer that you want to play are all in your account.

Following is the statement by ZOS Admin that says what is happening on the day 1.6 is released:

Hi guys, just wanted to pop in and put this to rest. What Kai said a few days ago is correct. Just to make sure we're all on the same page, once Update 6 is released and you have at least one Veteran Rank character, all your characters will receive 30 Champion Points - no more, no less. This will only occur at the onset of Update 6; after this is released, you will gain Champion Points one at a time as designed.

    @Wolfenbelle

They will only give your account 30CP (wich all your characters can spend individually) ONCE at the onset of 1.6. True.

BUT it is account based. Once you were given 30CP or earn more afterwards you can spend them on every new character. Deleting one will not make your accountpool smaller.

So all you have to have to get your 30 CP "starter gift" is at least one Vet char.

To answer your question specifically, NO you do not need to get your alt to VR. It simply needs to exist, along with any other alts you want to take advantage of the initial #30CPGiveaway. :sunglasses:

Umm.. no that character and the account will NOT get 30 upon dinging VR after 1.6. That 49 needs to be VR to get the grant. To borrow from a previous post:

When Tomg999 has another vet char the Lvl 49 will b able to use the 30 CP. But if not you are right of course.

@Darlgon the character @Tomg999 has framed his question around is an alt, therefore, I assume he already has a main character that is VR. Is this correct @Tomg999?

Yes, I have a VR3 alt, as well as a few 1-49. So I should be making the alts I will want, rather than advancing my LVL 49 alt at this time (as far as the one-time 30CP bonus is concerned). Maybe I should replace a few of my throwaway mule alts with races/classes I may want to play someday.

Yeah, missed that this read thru, as he as already clarified. Personally, I have a few alts already. I wont make any new ones until the Justice System is out to experience the game with that from scratch.

We still do not know how the CP will be obtained through "leveling CP", I'd even stop questing before 1.6 comes!! Especially dungeons, etc. or "v.i.p."-quests which give a lot of XP!

Everything could be important for CP-gain to the disadvantage of old VR 14s, who have already done "all" quests and who do not want to play another char. This players will be forced to do new pve content/pvp and will want no disadvantage, if you can not go on questing. Finding players for endgame-content for CP-leveling might be difficult for some.

If you play a max-level char and a level 50 (or less) then it's the ideal constellation, since your smaller twink will be able to farm CP for your level 14.

(this if from me) if you do just PvP you might also have a disadvantage cause VP-leveling in PvP has always been a pain, no matter if a new pvp-zone comes or not.

It can be pretty confusing. Just to be clear.

You have an account total. If you have at least one VR character when 1.6 goes live you will get a default starting pool of 30CP. After it goes live, any account leveling their first vet won't get this bonus. Only VR characters can earn more CP, which will plus one to the account total. Every character on the account will have a personal pool of CP to spend equal to the account total no matter when they are created, and that they can spend starting from lvl 1. It will go up when the account total goes up, and the total won't go down if you delete any characters. Am I mistaken on any one point?

Basically, as long as you have at least one VR you are good. Personally once you achieve that I would just go ahead and play normally from that point on since who knows what else may change in two months.
