That's also way down from what it's supposed to be, isn't it? Thought it was closer to 1800 total, with 600 per alliance. I know they lowered it for a bit, didn't think it was that much though. Then again, never thought about it. Regardless, that seems pretty low considering what they'd promised out of pvp.

well AD was pop-locked on had last night, and it was a good number of them.

at least 70-100ish, though im sure its somewhere along the lines of 150-200

Are they ever going to solve the lag problems and move it back up to the 600/alliance they said they could handle in the beginning?

You say that, but once they add imperial city-- which is basically the arena/WoW style pvp a lot of people have been complaining about AvA not being-- cyrodiil as a whole is going to become far less populated as people migrate to there. If the limit is 200 and half those people are in the imperial city, 100 v 100 v 100 is hardly 'epic' combat and battles.

Doubt ESO PvP has the numbers for that anymore, sad but true.

Now that, sadly I'd agree on. Though that I think is largely because the map is a bit bland and it's not well incentivized. Plus a lot of people were looking for something else other than AvA and just got pissy and left.

If you're brand new game though is peeking around 2000 people in pvp though, that's a pretty good sign you need to revamp it.

I honestly think they don't know how to fix lag.

Doesn't seem they do, though frankly it irritates me more that when you sell you're game on the idea of massive pvp battles across a huge map, you then end up slashing the pop caps because your system can't deliver what you promised.

Imperial city is just going to empty out cyrodiil if the caps stay so low. But more importantly, if you sell your game on something, you should deliver. It's fine if it's a temporary fix, but frankly nothing they've said makes me think it is.

And on the pop lock numbers, with 5 NA servers that gives them 3000 players total that could be in pvp at any given time. That's not a lot, and they can't even get that half way full it seems. That doesn't seem to say a lot for the game and it's success, if those numbers are true.

It's very deceptive as it stands because:

    1 bar = 0 - 75
    2 bars = 76 - 150
    3 bars = 151 - 225

So one faction could have 1 bar and another have 2 so you would think they are close right? WRONG. It's very likely that the faction with 1 bar has close to ZERO while the other one is about to go to 3 bars.

i.e. in the above scenario its ~10 vs ~150. The 10 have no chance and they get NO bonuses, this happens consistently and the faction with the most consistently higher bars always wins.

They claim to be addressing this in 1.6 so we shall see.

the PvP sold this game for me. the PvE is nice, but I really don't care about the PvE as much as the PvP. If I wanted a PvE only game, I would purchase Skyrim for my PC and play it.

The PvP is a huge part of this game, and ZOS is letting it die off. It's a shame really.

hopefully with 1.6 ZOS can get their crap together.

Pop lock seems to be at 150 people (or fewer- 125). You can easily go to all the hot spots on the map and estimate how many people there are. There is usually one massive zerg, one mini zerg, and a couple of smaller groups running around.

No way are there 200 people running around in one alliance.

Now imagine what it will look like once imperial city is out, half those people will vanish from cyrodiil and it will really feel empty.

Those are just rough guesses as the general consensus is that the current lock number resides around 200ish players per faction.

I would have to agree with those numbers he posted due to time played on various campaigns and seeing the population numbers adjust according to the amount of raids playing and how many players in them.
