✭✭✭I just launched my game in windowed mode with my task manager running....
As I said I have a Quad Core 2.4GHZ processor during the loading screen between log-in and character select my CPU usage changed many times BUT on several occasions it hit between 80-90%........
You do the maths, oh and btw launching in windowed mode is less resource intensive.....
As for the proffesionals they are all 'resting'

✭✭✭Just double checked the results quoted in my previous post on several occasions my CPU usage was over 90%......
That means I was using over 2GHZ of my 2.4GHZ between the log-in and character select screen.....
I had absolute minimum processes running......

✭✭✭The unfortunate thing for you is that before starting the loading process my CPU usage is at 1-2%........
It only peaks at 90%+ between the log-in screen and character select(having closed the launcher)........
And then immediately drops right down again.......
I cannot think of a way round this for you BUT it is very late.....

RSram✭✭✭✭✭Not to be disrespectful, of the suggestions posted, but don't do nothing until you look at the error in the windows application, or system logs. This is the first thing you must ALWAYS DO FIRST!
Do not reload your OS!
What do your windows applications and system logs show? Do you have any ESO application or system errors in the logs. Open the logs and scroll down to the time when you tried to run ESO, that is were you should see an application error, or just run ESO let it crash, and then look at the current entry in windows application log.
If you don't know what I am referring to I can post a link for you.
If you and post the error message, I can try to research your problem.

GHZ is your processor's SPEED, this does not mean when your cpu is at 90% you are only using 90% of it's speed. You are using 90% of it's process handling resources.

This was the best question asked so far. What change from when ESO worked and now it doesn't. That is the first step in logical troubleshooting: What Changed? Your computer's event logs can show you what changed if you know how to read them.
If you can't figure out what changed, then second step is localizing the problem: Is ESO the only game that doesn't run, or crashes? Do you have any problems with any other programs crashing?
If you can't localize the problem, then you are just trying ideas that may eventually work, or make make things worst and cost money, time, and lost of data.
Refer to the computer's event logs before doing anything stupid; your computer logs everything it does while it is on. It's a great tool. Your event logs can show you the time and date when you started to get errors on your computer. GHZ is your processor's SPEED, this does not mean when your cpu is at 90% you are only using 90% of it's speed. You are using 90% of it's process handling resources.
So I am using 90% of its process handling resources........ doesn't that mean I am using more process handling than a 1.5GHZ would have?
and @Arinator, I believe you need to uninstall via the options available on the launcher rather than uninstalling from 'programs and features' in Windows.
After uninstalling I would also run a Registry Cleaner. When people say to me........

AoEnwyr✭✭✭✭One thing my antivirus like to do is randomly block games after Windows updates. Perhaps check your firewall settings (I know it's a long shot) and make sure that everything is in order.
Also, if you have any addon's installed, delete them all if you haven't tried already.
I had a similar issue with GW2, worked fine for months then one day just stopped. No amount of clean re-installs or adjusting settings ever got the thing to work again. Hope you get it sorted.Edited by AoEnwyr on January 8, 2015 4:06AM0 -
Arninator✭✭I'm in the process of installing. I am constantly getting a "webget request failed" error. This requires me to pause and unpause to continue downloading, therefore I am constantly monitoring my computer. If you Google "webget request failed" you'll see a variety of links to possible solutions.

✭✭✭✭✭I'm afraid it looks increasingly like you're playing the game on a low-spec laptop that is no longer up to the job, with the changing demands of the game having passed the point where the game is playable. This is not unusual, it's quite common with MMOs generally for patches to catch out borderline systems.
It might be that if you formatted it and re-installed everything from scratch the game would run, but that's a hard decision to take depending on what else you use it for.
However, I see on the support forum that you've now got a top tier adviser on the case so perhaps ZOS can help where we can't.0
