Why don't they just give all V14's 13 champion points, 1 per level?

    Well, math. That is how.

Total exp to lvl from vr1 to vr14: 13,000,000
    Exp per Champion Point: 250,000

    Total Points for a Vr14: 52

See, it is very simple. :)

If it is, VR1 gets too much of it. If it isn't VR14 doesn't get enough.

The point is exactly as valid for PvP as for PvE. In PvE people have trouble grouping with others because there are simply too many levels and too much difference between those levels.

ZoS is trying to narrow down the differences and it will benefit both PvE and PvP. I think it's a good idea (and YES I'm a loooong time VT14 who has already completed Silver & Gold and every single quest in the game, so I belong to the "disadvantaged" ones but I still think the whole CP as it is is a good thing for the future o the game and its community so my personal situation does not matter so much to me).

Gotta agree with this guy here, I've had VR toons for a long time. One just hit VR 13 because I didn't play much after they raised the level cap But I was VR 12 for a long time and while yeah sure I'd take something extra points if they threw some my way I'm much more excited to hear about the changes coming and how great they'll be to the games livelihood. Not only that it'll make playing alts much more fun and offer a different experience. More so once Hrothgar is released.

When ZOS comes out and makes a statement. Then, depending on that statement, there will undoubtedly be others sprouting up about whatever ZOS has put out there. Hopefully, they become, "Why can't I kill a DK in PVP" versus "Hey ZOS, quit screwing your fan base."

But then I have always been a dreamer.
Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

"A few months ago, it was said that we were tracking XP. However, this was still early in development and through internal testing and feedback, found that we needed to change our plans (and, honestly, this quite normal through the course of development). We understand that this was, indeed, a major change from what we were originally planning. In an effort to be open with everyone about how things were going and what was planned, it caused a great deal of confusion, and we sincerely apologize for that."

Yes, I thought you might link that. You are correct. This is a statement about their change of plans.
It's not enough, though. They did make an explicit statement about an explicit question and the above does not even tuch that. They did know that Maria's statement would make players level further, and even more importantly, stay subbed longer.
They can not simply brush that aside as if nothing has happened. If for no other reason, precedence could be set with this. For their and your behaviour in the future.

Well I didn't say that, they did. You asked for a statement and got a clear one.
They changed it for good. No matter what you or anyone else thinks, they won't be reverting it.

They apologized and the Champion System is still coming, which is the only thing that matters.
My sincere condolences to anyone still hoping.

Not going to quote all of the above, but ditto from me @Razzak. I want to know if they are going to continue with this progression approach for the CP? Is there going to be a course change by update 7? Are they even considering it? Where is the openness they swear by. Open dialog looks something like we are attempting here. "Fear not players, yes we screwed up, but we are looking at ways that we can correct this without screwing over loyal players." See, open ended, no promises, time to think, puts people at ease (sort of, instead of a mass exodus), gives a sliver of hope, let's us know our voices matter and that our money hasn't been wasted developing a game we have come to despise (alright maybe not game, but you get it I hope).... Is that too much to ask? An example of "non-openness" : ZOS says, "chirp, chirp, chirp." ZOS, care to comment? ZOS response, "While we understand that conversations can be hotly debated, your post is "moderated" due to X." But what about our questions/concerns? ZOS replies, "chirp, chirp, chirp". And if that seems to much to ask, let me show it to you from your quote:

ZOS quote from above. "However, this was still early in development and through internal testing and feedback, found that we needed to change our plans (and, honestly, this quite normal through the course of development)..."

Expectable new quote from them would look like this only acknowledging the complaints that are dominating the forums. Not about pig ears for toons, but the actual ZOS misleading players and then ignoring their contributions to the game since launch. Simple right.

But hey, thanks for keeping this post at the top of the list. :D

Open dialogue ? You call this open dialogue ?

It 's not hard to understand why they shut up and will keep shutting up. Because whatever they say, even the slightest info, will lead to an avalanche of drama reactions such as the ones we've seen so far regarding the "30 CP" and other sensitive topics.

    - Yeah ZOS I like that idea / ZOS I've got better ideas / Oh that's crap ZOS you're so incompetent (+ endless fights between the three groups)
    - ZOS why don't you (whatever) ?
    - WHAT ?? IT's not what you said before, you're liars, I unsub...
    - I know what's best for the game, anybody else is an idiot
    - Etc, etc...

Players want the game to evolve / expand but at the same time refuse changes.

ZOS is thinking / developing / testing and want to keep open the opportunity of changing their mind. Players seem to refuse that very basic right.

That's why open dialogue is impossible.

Atm the moment they are conspiring/"propagandaing" the forums, so that threads like this stay hidden behind some "very" intellectual stuff. (It's frustrating to see what other players are interested in how they keep posting on[snip]

Media, and especially a simple forum, can be treated in a way that important information is overseen, or gets forgotten. Nothing more simple than that, especially in the new-apple-consumer age, where people buy all bling-bling stuff, no matter if it is exactly the same gadget that everyone else has. Good bye Individualism, good bye criticism!

Maths is great but only when people use the correct figures.

Its 400k per CP, so 2.5 CP per VR level and you start at VR1, so only 13 advances, so that's actually 32.5 CP.

So you were only 19.5 out.

32.5 CP, hmm that sounds an awful lot like the starting point for everyone, perhaps ZOS used some math too.

Fail maths again. The VR 1 would get nothing. He has not advanced any VR levels.

Also if you have not figured out your not getting compensated for all your VR levels yet, you must be blind. It's not happening and that VR 1 is getting to eat at the same table as you. Deal with it!

I was being generous to that poor VR1. I agree, he should have 0. I know the current plan is not what I stated, but I think what I stated is much smarter, and fairer.

    Cheers, bub!
